A few months had passed since I found out that my Teddy could talk. He had become a real friend to me. He comes with me to walk around in the woods while my parents are at work. I always try to make sure I'm inside before they get back. Teddy can always sense when one of them are close. But, today was different, Mother had to go to work and Father was off today, but with great surprise, father let me play outside today until mother came home but he told me not to wonder off to the point where I could not hear him when he called. So, here I sit next to the little lake across the path next to the Cottage, Teddy sat next to me on the path starring at the water. "Aviana?" I looked down at Teddy. " Yes?" he was quiet for a moment, "Please, be careful around him...I sense something very dark within him, he's dangerous," I was conflicted, Was there something I was missing? I know he isn't a happy man, I would never think he would hurt me. But, of course I was wrong.

Later that night, after dinner, my Mother was tired from work so she went to bed early. Father called me from the kitchen after I had finished washing dishes. I followed his voice to the sitting room. He was sitting on the couch with a beer, he smelled so much like it that it made my head dizzy, "Yes father?' He patted the spot next to him and said, "Come, sit with me." I hesitated but not wanting to anger him, I did as I was told. "You know Avianna, you are becoming a very pretty girl?" I shook my head not really knowing the meaning behind his slurred words. "You know I love you right?" I didn't know how to answer that question, he had never told me anything like that before, he was always yelling or worse. He leaned down slowly and kissed my cheek. " I love you, Ana," my heart started pounding, that nasty feeling in my stomach had come at full force. Before I could say anything, he grabbed my legs and pulled me down on the couch him leaning over me. "Don't make a sound, or I'll punish you," I was frightened beyond belief, I struggled under him as much as an eight year old could, he yanked my shirt off, and I made the biggest mistake in my life, "NO!" I yelled, he covered my mouth but it was to late, Mother had walked out of the room to find him still on top of me, she ran to me to try and pull him off but he turned and slapped her, she fell over and hit her head on the same spot as last time. He turned around and put his hand around my throught, "I'll teach you what happens when you disobey," and then, he squeezed. He squeezed so hard I could feel something tare, and at some point I could here his chuckling as my vision went black.

I woke up to bright lights and white walls. At first I thought I was in a dream, blinking rapidly to see clearer and then my mother came into view a few moments later. Sitting in a chair sleeping a few feet away from me. I grew confused until I looked at myself, I was in a bed of pure silks with needles in my arms and a beeping screen on the other side of me. I was in the same kind of room my grandmother left me in. I was calm, and quiet. I tried it then. To use it, the one thing I was in control of, my voice, I tried to speak to my mother, tried to say her name, tried to yell. Though no sound came out of my mouth, I thought for a moment, she did not stir not even a flinch. My hand met with my kneck, and I winced at the pain. My eyes become strained so suddenly as I begin to cry, my mother hears my sniffles and stirs awake, waking up instantly as she sees my tear stained face. She hugged me so tightly, I wondered how long I was sleeping. "Avianna oh my goodness," she said quietly, tears wetting my white gown. "I'm so glad your still with me, it's been two weeks," my eyes widen at her words. Two weeks since that night. "I was out for three days, they won't tell me what he said to them and they won't listen to me. Something is wrong.....but I needed you to wake up so you could listen to me," I was wide awake now, listening to every word she said, " Avianna I know you won't understand until your of age but," she looked around paranoid and continued in a hushed whisper "your mother and father where of magical decent. Your mother was a witch who graduated from Hogwarts and your father is unknown of, so there is a good possibility that you are a special as well." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I've never even read a book about magical beings but now come to find out that I might be one as well. "Your grandmother, my mother is one as well as am I and Derek. We kept it from you because we weren't sure who your father was and if you were born with abilities or not. But after your mother died and she gave you to me, I made the worst mistake in my life, and married the horrid man you knew as your father all these years. I'm sorry Avianna." Tears streamed down my face at the realization of the situation. "But I need you to look at me." I rose my eyes to meet hers. "The doctor I talked to told me that you will never be able to talk again," my heart dropped, and my breathing became heavy, "however I know something is wrong, no one has came in here since that day. Avianna?" I focused on her and only her, if I focused on anything I was thinking about, I'd probably lose my mind. "No matter what happens, I want you to find your way. Take teddy with you, I want you to leave this place as soon as you can. But I want you to promise me. That no matter how hard life becomes and how troubling the obsicals, I want you to promise me That you'll never ever give up. Stay the beautiful Avianna that me and your mother loved deeply." It took me a while to process what she said. I nodded subtly and starred at her face, memorizing every wrinkle every stress line. "I love you Avi," she stood as she kissed my head, "I'll be back," she walked toward the door and grabbed the door handle but as soon as she tried to turn it a bright green light iluminated the space that no longer held the door. The blast was with such force that the door flew off the hinges and a cross the room. I jumped up off the bed so fast that it pulled out the I.V. I pressed two fingers on the opened wound to stop the bleeding, as I did. I turned to see who had blasted the door, I clenched my fists as I looked in horror at my mothers lifeless body on the floor.

Two men walked in, none of which looked familiar to me, one looked quite old, almost balding and a crooked back. I shivered at his stare. The other was quite large but looked simple minded so he didn't look too terrifying. Then my father came into view. His dark stare fixated on me, he walked closer with a smile, "Sorry Ana but I had too, I knew she couldn't keep it quiet. But now I guess you know everything now," I lifted my fingers from my wound, thank goodness it had stopped bleeding. "What shall I do with you now?" Then in a sudden movement he lunged at me, I ducked under his legs and tried for the door, but was cut short by the older man. He managed to grab my arm but immediately released me as I sunk my teeth into his hand. I then scooted around him and rushed passed the simple minded man, who didn't seem to worried about me escaping.

I ran down so many halls, but unlike normal hospitals this one was empty, the halls were dark and endless, everywhere I ran, I couldn't find an exit. My eight year old mind was realing from the exhaustion I was feeling. My breathing was heavy and uneven. My feet ached and my heart hurt. I finally came to a stop at the end of an endless hallway. My father and his men were all ready on my tail. I was trapped, I dropped to my knees as I tried to catch my breath.
A moment later, the sound of my fathers laughter came with the black boots that now stood infront of me. "Ana, it's time to give up," He grabbed my hands and tied them together.  Draging me back the way I came. We passed many doors, most of them looked relatively the same, exept for the occasional red or black shades.
After a few moments we arrrived to a latch in the ceiling and a ladder that led upwards. I grew confused as I was hauled up by my arms, as my feet came in contact with the grass, I looked up, we were outside the cabin a few yards away. The hatch door blended perfectly into the dirt. He told the others to wait outside as he dragged me down the hall all the way to our basement, it was a dark square like room with no Windows and a shelf filled one whole wall with canned foods and other random edible goods, some boxes were stacked against the wall under the stairs, my cot that was in my room was down here as well as my belongings. Teddy was thrown in the corner, some cob webs had formed on him.

He roughly threw me down to the floor, pulling the rope of my wrists roughly, leaving deep deepsl cuts, I trembled as I held my elbow where he had been holding me, I could already feel the bruising, I looked up at him then, not in sadness, or anger, just pure hatred, I swore to myself I would kill him one day, I will find a way to make him suffer as I have, no body will get in my way.

He shook his head in deep thought and walked to the stairs and pulled out a thing that looked like a wand, "Ana I look at you and I just can't do it, I know you'll never forgive me, you may even kill me but, this is goodbye." After that he ran up the stairs, I jumped up quickly and ran after him, but im to late, he had already closed the door and locked it, but when I made it to the door I could here him chanting something but he said it like a whisper, I couldn't make out what he said.
Then a moment later I heard his footsteps run off.
I placed my hands on the door, sliding down to my knees, I felt tears run down my cheeks, but no sound left me, the most you could hear was light sniffling. I whiped at my them as I looked up at the door, noticing a small hole on the door that light shined through, I slowly lift myself, with my left eye I peeked through it, I could see down the hallway and to the front door, it was night time so it was illuminated in a blue hue.
I tried the door nob, the hinges, I tried pushing it, kicking it, even full on ramming it, not even a scratch. I sulked down the stairs and looked over remembering Teddy, I picked him up and dusted him off. I Huged him close as I walked over to my cot and crawled on top of it and covered myself up.
I poked his nose with my index finger, " Yes Avianna?" He lifted his head to look at me, I tensed slightly startled, I then sighed and looked around at the walls, that seemed to feel a lot closer then they are, teddy then spoke to me, "Its okay, every thing will be Okay. There is something more to this, your father has layed a spell on this house but most importantly that door, I know your scared, but I'm here with you, please stay strong."
I nodded slowly calming slightly, wouldn't matter any way, I can't use my voice anymore, no one can hear me. I'm just going to have to pray for a miracle.
I hugged Teddy. Holding him tight as I began to hum to him.         Waiting out the imprisonment my father has bestowed upon me.....
