There's a lot about this world that no one understands. It's gross, it's disgusting, it's unforgiving to the ones who are considered different. If your talented you are either used or treated like a freak. But sometimes, just sometimes, there are some beautiful things only seen by those who are able to see.

My name is Aviana Adlyine Sallow. My mothers name is Ana and my fathers name is Derek. My parents were very bitter people. They had a tendency to be jealous of what other people had. We were very poor, we did not have much money but my father was able to purchase a little cottage in the woods a little ways away from the small town of Cokeworth. It was pitiful town to some, but it was quite wholesome to me. It was quiet and grey, not many people line the streets as it was 7pm when we arrived to our home in the small wooded area around our home. The fall leaves fell at a small pace, as I got off the car with my small forest green bear in hand. The cottage was yellowish color with blue shingles to top it off, vines covered the sides of the cottage almost like the Kraken swallowing a ship. I stood staring at the house until my father grabbed my upper arm with force, pulling me out of my thoughts, "What the hell are you doing just standing there, get the damn bags and hurry the hell up!" he let me go without care causing me to fall to my knees, scrapes appearing on my knees. I quickly scurry to my feet and grab two bags and run to the cottage to set them down in the front room, I continued till I had retrieved all 7 bags, only one being mine. I took mine to the room that my parents left unoccupied for me, witch was the back room with no windows, a small closet and a small twin sized bed. I unpacked my small cover, my two pairs of pajamas and my four pairs of day cloths. I only had one pair of shoes, the one I was wearing now. The last thing was my medium sized pillow my grand mother made me, a few weeks before she was murdered. I was the only one who witnessed it, but my father knew the people who did it. Which in turn forced us to move from my grandmothers house.

I sighed as I put everything up and made up my bed. After I was done I scooted my suitcase under my bed which still held 2 spirals and 3 books that I kept from the school I was attending before leaving. "Aviana! Hurry up and get over here!," I heard my mother shriek from the kitchen. I stood from the floor where I was kneeling and hurried to the kitchen, my mother was carrying some dishes from the one box my father had carried in from the trunk. I helped my mother by passing her the plates, bowls and four cups we were able to scrounge from my grandmothers kitchen. The silverware was at the bottom which we had put in a drawer next the sink. "Now go to your room I'll call you when dinners ready," I nodded as I stepped off the chair I was standing on, "Yes ma'am," she waved me off with her wrist. I walked into my room and glanced into the hallway, my father was standing at the other end starring at me, I had started wondering why father had started looking at me like that. I continued to my bed and sat on it, I grabbed my teddy and starred at it, he was very old and missing one eye. I smiled softly at it, as my imagination ran off, he waved at me with a small smile, "What's the matter Aviana, why are you so sad?" I shrugged, "I just wishes there was more, but there never is Rosco" he nodded, "I understand Avi, but please cheer up, you know I love you with all my heart, even if others don't," I giggled and hugged by bear, until I was startled by my father standing at the door, "Who are you talking to Aviana?" I looked up at him confused, "No one father just my teddy," he looked ticked off and stormed to me, swooping up my arm and lifting me, "Don't lie to me, I heard another voice!" my eyes widened in confusion, "That's not possible father, I'm the only one in here, I promise father," I said quietly, he calmed a little and set me back down on the bed. "You better be telling the truth," he rubbed his fingers down my face, "I don't want to have to punish you Ana," I hated when he called me that, it made me feel weird, it made my stomach hurt. He left the room when my mother called for dinner. I sat teddy down under my pillow and left to the kitchen. I sat next to my mother, she set a plate in front of father then herself, last me. I always had a little less then them, but I didn't mind. I've gone days without food before, so I find it easier on me if I don't complain. As I ate, I sat thinking about what my father was talking about earlier, he said he heard another voice. but that's imposable, i was talking to teddy, unless, teddy can really talk, but if that was true how come its only now that they could here him, then I remembered something. When we lived with Grandmother, she had told me something about teddy, that he was a very special bear, and that he will always be my friend if I need one. I wonder if she knew he could talk. After I finished my plate I got up and washed it, my parents then handed me their plates and washed theirs as well.

As it was already late outside, mother told me to bathe and head to bed, I scurried off to retrieve my pajamas and hurried to the restroom. I bathed within 15 minutes and headed to bed while my parents stayed in the living room. I could hear them through the door, arguing about me as they always do. "Ana why do you want to keep this child please answer me that, she's not even ours!" I gasped shocked, Mother yelled back with much force, "Derek we already talked about this multiple times, just because she's not mine doesn't mean she's not family, she's my niece and she was left to me when her mother died, I'm not going to throw her into the street just because she's not your child Derek, maybe if you would be able to have children we wouldn't be in this situation. we had to leave my mothers because you couldn't leave those people alone. She's dead because of you Derek, and I'll never forgive you for that!" *slap* I couldn't hold in the tears, he slapped her with such force she fell into the table in the kitchen. "Don't ever talk to me like that again Ana, don't you forget, you're alive because of me, that BRAT is alive because of me, and I will not be disrespected in my house." He stormed off out of the house and left to lord knows where. I walked out of my room and found my mother holding her head it was bleeding, she was still on the floor where he left her, I grabbed a towel and wet it, I rushed to her side and cleaned her up, afterward putting pressure on the back of her head, to stop the bleeding. She starting crying, I turned her face to mine and I wiped her tears, "It's okay, You'll always be my Mother," She hugged me then, so tight i thought she'd never let go. "Oh, I'm so sorry Aviana, I'm so sorry." I hugged her back and finished cleaning her head. I washed off the rag and told her goodnight, I didn't want Father to upset I was awake when he got back. She told me goodnight and to pretend I never heard anything, I nodded and ran to my room and closed the door.

When I reached under my pillow to grab teddy, he wasn't there. I was confused as I lifted my pillow looking for any trace of him. I heard my closet door open I spun around meet teddy , standing on both legs. "Hello Aviana, how was supper?" I stared at him in horror and awe at the same time, then again I was an 8 year old girl starring at a talking bear I've had for years. "I'm fine teddy, but how are you talking, I know it was your voice that father heard," he looked down nervous, "I wish I could tell you that, but I can't, you'll have to find that out for yourself." I nodded, but panicked as I heard the front door open, I quickly grabbed teddy and laid down in bed, I covered up and pretended I was asleep.
