Marayae sat in the warm grass, her fingers tracing the letters of her brother's name on the headstone. She couldn't believe it had been 13 years since he passed away. The pain of that day still felt raw, as if it had just happened yesterday. She never imagined that she would be sitting in front of her brother's grave, but here she was, feeling an overwhelming sense of sadness and grief.
Marayae's heart ached as she sat there, lost in thought. She wished that she could have had more time with her brother. They were both so young when he passed away, and it felt like there was so much left unsaid between them. If only things could have been different.
If only her family had had the money to move to a better neighborhood, maybe her brother would still be alive today. She couldn't help but feel like she could have done something to save him. But now, all she could do was sit there and let the tears fall, wishing for a chance to turn back the clock and make things right.
Marayae's voice trembled as she spoke, tears streaming down her face. "I still have those nightmares" she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She wiped her tears with her sleeve, trying to compose herself.
