Chapter Two***
It was dark by the time Kerushii came back to the apartment. She was never gonna hear the end of it for skipping out on practise but she just couldn't take that constant noise. And it was worth going out into town.
Kerushii slipped into the apartment, closing the door behind her as quietly as possible.
"It's a bit late, don't you think?" L.Joe's voice came from behind Kerushii. She froze and closed her eyes momentairly, before turning around to face her death.
"L.Joe. Hi." She said, sounding as innocent as she could. L.Joe was leaning against the wall, one leg bent with the foot resting on the wall behind him. Kerushii was more than well aware of the fact that L.Joe was only wearing a pair of sweatpants. Meaning that he was, ahem, half naked.
"Why did you skip out on practise?" L.Joe asked, getting straight to the point. Kerushii leaned back on her heels, shoving her hands into her jeans pockets.
"I needed some fresh air." She answered. She wasn't lying exactly. She really hadn't been feeling well for the last couple of days, but of course she wasn't the type of person who would say such a thing out loud to anybody.
L.Joe didn't look too convinced.
"The concert's on Saturday. Today's Wednesday." L.Joe informed Kerushii.
"I know that." Kerushii replied, rolling her eyes. "Look, I'll practise longer tomorrow to make it up for today." L.Joe raised hi eyebrow at her.
"I will!" Kerushii exclaimed. "Why won't you ever believe me?"
"Nobody ever said I don't believe you." L.Joe commented. Kerushii looked away, muttering under her breath.
"Why did you skip out on practise?" L.Joe asked, suddenly standing right in front of Kerushii.
"I already told you, I needed some air." Kerushii muttered a reply, still looking away.
"Really? Are you SURE that's the reason?" L.Joe asked.
"That's all there is to it." Kerushii told him, eyes still focused on Niel and Changjo's room door.
Liar. Kerushii's mind accused her. She forced the little accusing voice away. After all, if they didn't know then it's not really lying, is it?
"Right." L.Joe sounded far from being convinced.
"I'm gonna go use the bathroom..." Kerushii mumbled before walking off in the direction of the bathroom. L.Joe wrapped his hand around Kerushii's wrist. He leaned close to her ear.
"If there's...ANYTHING, just...just come and tell." He whispered, not sure how to phraze his words.
"I'm fine." Kerushii told him, then added with a smile. "Really."
L.Joe nodded and let go of her wrist.
"Goodnight then." He said softly. Kerushii only nodded before walking off the the bathroom.
Flipping on the light, she locked the bathroom door behind her, then leaned her forehead against it.
That was close. Too close...
Kerushii took a deep breath. Well, tried. Her throat didn't let her.
Okay, calm down, Kerushii...you've been through this before...
That didn't help. Her lungs felt as if they were on fire, her throat was closing up. Kerushii felt around her pockets frantically for her inhalor.
Shoot.
Kerushii rested her foredead against the cold wood of the door. Her inhalor was back in her room. She was scared not to go and get it in case someone would see her and start panicking.
Think Kerushii, is it better to risk somebody seeing you or for you to suffocate in a hotel bathroom?
Silenltly, she slipped out of the bathroom and tiptoed to her bedroom. With shaky hands, she took out the inhalor from her bag. She used it.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
Finally feeling that she could breathe normally, she sat down on the edge of her bed, resting her elbows on her knees and burying her face in her hands.
I thought it was over...
On the other side of the wall, Niel woke up, thinking that he heard someone crying, but when he listended in closer there was nothing except for L.Joe's muffled laughing. Frowning slightly, Niel went back to sleep.
AN; This one sucks...yeah. I don't really like the way this chapter came out but I really cannot do any better than that. The next chapter is going to be funny so please read on. I'll do my best, like always. I shall see you on the other side then!
