I wish we had just stayed here. I'm now all alone. Who would be there to wipe my tears?
It's all my fault.
If i was a demon slayer, none of this would happen.

Y/N's thoughts were filled with pure regret and sadness as she hugged her knees, and tears fell from her e/c eyes. She hasn't slept for the night ever since she was locked in her room. All she did was stay in the same position and cry, cry, and cry. Waiting to wake up from this nightmare.

Unfortunately, it wasn't. It's reality. The reality we live in is filled with demons. We think that staying together with humans would keep you away from demons, but you never know, the so called human's personality is a demon.

Y/N was sobbing quietly as she heard the door of her room open. She stayed in the same position and did not even bother to look who entered. She didn't even care. Not even caring if it was her father about to beat her and lecture her for not protecting his wife.

" Uhm... Y/N? "

Instead of her father's loud, angry voice, it was a soft one. He sounded young but might be a little older than Y/N. It's a voice Y/N might have heard a few times in the estate, but she never knew who. She slowly lifted her head to look at the person.

It was the slayer that brought her back to the estate, but this time, he wasn't wearing any cloth to cover his identity. She recognized the boy because of his eyes. A similar shade to Y/N's e/c eyes. He sat a few inches from Y/N, eyeing her as she went back to cover her face.

" Good morning.. I uhm, I am your cousin, Keiji. "

Y/N didn't bother to say a word to her cousin, Keiji. She just sniffled in response. Keiji could sense that Y/N wasn't comfortable with his presence, but he still wanted to help her, unlike any other person from the estate. Keiji wanted to help her and not feel the same way he did a few years ago.

" By the way, I'm sorry... for your.. loss. "

Keiji spoke softly, trying not to accidentally say anything that might make her regret even more.

" I lost my mother because of a demon too..."

As soon as Y/N received this information, she slowly raised her head to look at her left, eyeing the boy who looked at the floor of her bedroom as he started to tell his story. Keiji turned his head to Y/N, feeling eyes peirce on his figure, and he saw the girl raising an eyebrow, waiting for him to continue.

" Also, my father. I was 6 years old at that time. But I understood what happened right in front of me. A few years later, I started to think it was my fault. But, it wasn't. "

Keiji sighed and cleared his throat before he continued to speak and tell his story to his cousin.

" I wanted to kill demons to avenge my parents. I slowly started to realise that I saved many lives, especially kids. I stopped them from feeling the way I did for many years. And I'm proud of that. I was finally happy for myself after many years. "

" What are you trying to tell me? "

Y/N's soft and broken voice was heard as Keiji raised his eyebrows and looked at the girl.

" Many things, Y/N. It's not your fault. You'll find something that will make you happy soon. Use your mother as an inspiration to keep living and stay happy. Even in a household like this. "

Keiji's lips formed into a sweet smile, something you would be thankful for seeing for a few seconds. Why did she only find such a kind family member just now? Is it because she didn't care about her surroundings but just her mother?

Now that her mother's gone, is it just now that she realized there are still good people out there? Y/N was shocked. They barely knew each other, yet Keiji is trying everything to cheer her up.
