5. Trial

The day of the final trial has finally arrived. Everyone is under pressure, this is a crucial case for all parties involved, they must end with a favourable judgment. The three lawyers know their defence is strong, they have done their best and are confident they can make it happen.

During the last month, Theo has managed to keep his calm. He worked with his lawyers to the fullest, lived up to their expectations, and did not misbehave but the most important day is today. Everything is decided today. He's not usually stressed easily, but right now it is impossible for him to keep calm. Sitting on a chair in front of the cabinet meeting table, he stares at the clock, hoping time will pass faster. The sooner it starts, the faster the final verdict is out. Hyung Sik has never seen Theo so stressed out. Having to stay with him at all times, he is slowly starting to understand him, and being in this state is not his habit. Not knowing what to say to reassure him, he decided to take a chair and sit next to him. He took his hands resting on the table and squeezed them in his for support. He is confident that everything will be fine.

A few hours passed and everyone arrived at the court getting ready for the start of the trial. Ji Wook and Seo Joon chatted one last time to Jae Hyun who came with the police. They want to be sure there won't be any surprises when he testifies as one of the key witnesses in Theo's trial. Hyung Sik stayed close to Theo while waiting for the hearing to begin, still with his hands in his. He has noticed this technique calming Theo a bit so he doesn't let go. Seconds from the start of the hearing, someone came running through the doors of the courtyard. Theo was more shocked to see Todd quickly sit next to his mother, also present at the hearing, and nodded to encourage his brother. He knows they aren't close and never thought he would come. He didn't even know his father had told him the day of his hearing. Still, he was glad his whole family was there for him. They were never close, being a blended family is never easy. Finally, after all his years, they start to look like a united family.

Seeing that the judge arrived, he turned and focused on what would come. There were no surprises during the trial, everyone did their part. Theo was finally able to see the video Jae-Hyun had sent. It is true that this is irrefutable proof in his defence and he will be forever grateful for his help. It is undoubtedly thanks to him that he will be able to be free.

The accused is found not guilty. You are free. You can leave the court.

The hearing is adjourned.

The verdict is in. Theo sighs with relief to know that everything is finally settled. His innocence is proven, and he can resume his life normally. Despite everything, he remains a well-known person, his public image and reputation are important to his career. He is liberated to know that everything went well.

Seo Joon and Ji Wook had a few papers to settle before leaving. With all the paperwork in order, everyone could finally go. Lee Sang Hoon comes to thank the lawyers in person for their hard work, he knows his son's case was challenging. He promises them that if there is anything he can do for them, they shouldn't hesitate to contact him. Todd does the same, happy that his brother is no longer in danger. He invites everyone to one of his games this weekend to thank them and change everyone's mind. It's one of the most important qualifying games of the season. He gives them all VIP tickets to make the most of it. After talking for a while, he left with his father first.
