I had been on the island for half a year, my hair had grown out really fast because of the phoenix fruits they don't taste as ben when you eat them instead of drinking them thank god. Sadly that and deer were almost the only food on this island that wouldn't kill you. I had been helping the hunters and the hearts a lot and every now and then the cooks. In my free time, I would go to the small library that we had which was really just a hut with two shelves of books but I still loved it. I was trying to see if I could find a way to see if I could make something to help with the spider's nites instead of those awful fruits. I was sitting on the floor reading a few books about medicine. One was about dangerous animals, but nothing like we had here. Well, we did have bears wolves moten lions spiders, and snakes we also had pterodactyls. Witch just shows how remote this island was. I groaned and put the book down. Nothing. I muttered and picked up another book. I was reading it when I came across a wired word. Antivenom? I questioned looking at it I was going to flip the page when Archer slammed the door open. I jumped back and screamed a little he chuckled I rolled my eyes. Do that again and I will kill you. I said getting up and brushing myself off. Calm down. We have to go hunt, you in? He asked I smiled. Ya, bet! I said he chuckled. Let's go then. He said walking out the door with me after him.
Me Archer Kamau and three other people were helping us hunt. Well, I didn't like to hurt animals, but it was to keep everyone safe and we only would take what we needed and only took the weaker members of whatever we were hunting. I walked through the heavy thick brush cutting in and out of the way with my sowed. Stitch. Kamau called I rolled my eyes. That was a little nickname they called me. Aprenyt some alien in a book they found was named Stitch and was also called 626. What wild man? I asked he pointed at the moving bush with his spear we took a step forward only for a small pack of wolfs to jump out at us Archer Kamau and three others looked a little scared and froze in fear. I had just read about wolfs so I knew what to do. Get! Get back! I yelled at the wolves well pointing my sowed at them and waving my arms the wolves moved back a little I took a few steps closer. Get!!! I yelled throwing a rock at them the wolves whimpered and ran back into the bushes. Yeah, you better run! I yelled at the wolves then put my sword back. Wow! One of the people said I turned around to see everybody looking at me. What? I asked they clapped. How do you know that would work? Archer asked walking up to me. Some of those books. I said with a grin. We kept on walking after a bit we caught some Turkeys which was rare. Hay over here. Archer said I looked at him. Not another wolf chase. I said Kamau rolled his eyes at me. I think we found some deer. Archer said moving the bushes aside to show some deer prints. Hum. It must have been a rabbit but the deer were here. He said then got done on noe keen and touched the print. It's still warm there close. He said with a smile then got up. Everyone tared to head into the brush after him I took a step and then heard a rustling from the bushes. I turned to face it and it rusted again. I scared the wolves off a few miles back so it couldn't be them. I took a step closer and moved the bushes aside to a baby pterodactyl. It was a light purple in color and had black beaded eyes and was the size of a small dog, but was kind of cute. I knew that they hunted alone but not this young it must have been left behind. I took a step forward and knelt by it. It looked up at me and tried to run but was too weak and tripled and fell, I chuckled and helped it up that's when I saw its wing was broken I gasped. Poor thing. I said looking at it hiss in pain. I knew it wouldn't survive out here on its own without its mom to keep her safe she would die. I took off my brown backpack that was used for carrying food luckily there wasn't any in it yet. Come here. I said holding out my hands but the pterodactyl hissed and snapped at me I rolled my eyes. Oh, don't be like that. I'm going to help you. I said she tilted her head and looked at me. Come on. I said holding out my hands again and she stepped onto them. I lifted her up and put her in my bag and put it back on my back. Let's go. I said walking off. I regrouped with the others who had got three deer. It had been three hours of hutting and the sun was going down that's when the real dangers of this place come out. We started to quickly make our way back to camp. I got some fish off the shore with Jaison. Tom said walking up to us with a basket full of fish. You throw him to the fishes?! I said faking shock and making everyone laugh Tom rolled his eyes. Really funny Stitch. Jaison said sarcastically well walking up behind Tom. Thank you. I said bowing they rolled their eyes. So, when do you guys and, Little girl get? Tom asked I smiled. We get three deer and two turkeys. I said Tom smiled. Looks like it will be a feast tonight. Tom said I took the basket and we started to walk to the kitchen. It wasn't made out of wood like everything else but was a shake made out of some white mettle that washed up well, the roof was made out of corrugated panels with a big window facing the sea where you could take your food from. Here you go. Archer said taking off his bag so did everyone else but me. Billy walked out of the wooden door and over to us. What did you get today? Billy asked I set down the basket. Tom and Jaison got there and we got three deer and two turkeys. We filled up everyone's begs but mine. I said he nodded and brought the bags in.
It was getting late everyone just ate and I went to my room. I put my bag down and opened it the baby pterodactyl jumped out. Ok, I gut you some fish. I said putting a cooked fish down she sniffed at it and then started to eat I made my way over to her right wing and looked at it. I saw Jaison do this a lot and even helped him a few times. I took out some bandages I took from Jaison when he wasn't looking and started to wrap her wing but she moved. Itrye again but she kept moving. Fine, two can play this game. I said taking the fish and hanging it off of an old nail sticking out of the wall. She jumped for it and was now on her hind legs I get down on my keens again and wrapped it this time. Gath ya! I said with a grin she looked at me then at her wing before glaring at me. Clam down. I said then get her the fish. Well, you will be staying with me for a bit so I have to give you a name. How bout Stella? I said turning to her she shook her head. Then what about Belle? I asked she stuck her tongue out. Hum, Penny? I asked she nodded. Ok, Penny, it is. I said then took my bag and put it down on the lower bed. You can sleep here. I said then got into my bed. Good night Penny. I said then shut off the oil light in my room. I then felt something cool and a little hard next to me. I turned on the lit and lifted up the covers. Really?! I yelled seeing Penny curled up next to me she looked up at me and did the cutest yawn ever I sighed. Fine, but only this once, and as soon as you can fly you are going back to the wild. I said she nodded and fell back asleep I shut off the light again and went to sleep.
I woke up the next day with Penny looking at me. Ahhh! I yelled and fell off the bed hitting my head... Again. Really?! I yelled at her she crawled down and rubbed up against me. God, your like one of the dogs at the containment center. I muttered as she walked under my arms licking me. I had a flashback of a German shepherd backing at a small boy only around the arg of two. The dog had a harness on and a leash. On the other end of the leach was a tall man wearing a hazmat suit under it he was wearing a black one-piece janitor's suit. I blacked out and fell back a ringing in my left ear. I woke up three hours later Penny staring at me again. Will, you stop that?? I said gently pushing her away. I remembered what I saw and grabbed my notebook. I wrote down everything I remembered. I wasn't going to tell anyone. I didn't know if this was going to happen again, but I hope it will. Ok, I'm going to the library. Stay. I said walking out the door Penny huffed and lay down.
