THE ISLANDERS ESCAPE

SHIPWRECK PART 2

The year was 4023. A huge pandemic stuck the earth. It wiped out billions in under two years more than two-thirds of the world's population had perished. The world fell into ruin and war. This was no ordinary pandemic the disease spread quickly you could have it for a day before showing symptoms and by that time you could have infected hundreds. It was unforgive it killed slowly making sure that the person suffered a slow painful death. It made Coived look like a walk in the park The Black Death like a case of the sniffles and 536 the common cold. It caused fever, chills, coughing, sneezing, muscle or body aches, headache, stomachache, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea vomiting, diarrhea, swollen lymph nodes, black boils field with pus and blood, internal bleeding, seizures, extreme pain, fatigue, coma, and death. It became known as the Last Dance with Death or The Grime Reaper's Poison. Some people could get the disease but would not die. The government was quick to act on this and captured everyone who had some immunity and forced them to have kids that would be immune to the disease. These kids were called Earth's only hope. They were raised in a containment center and had many tests run on them. Some died from lack of care or the test. They had chips put into their brains from birth these chips acted as tracking devices, and read their brain activity by using small electric pulses. If a kid were to get out the chip you send out stronger plus wiping their memory so they couldn't tell anyone about what happened at the containment center. But the people wanted to be free to get away. One night they paid off the guard, and he brought them all to a ship where they go get away. But the guard had other plans the government found out about the prisoner's plans and paid the guard trippel to bring them out to see them back to the containment center. This happened to many ships before some made it back others got lost at sea. This is where I come in.

The gently swaying on the water rocking the bote back and forth the sounds of the waves air so cold you could see your breath it was so peaceful. I was leaning against the side of one of the rails looking at the stars. This was the first time in my life I was ever outside the containment center, and I was never going back. The ship stared into some fog I looked around to see a building on a small island it was the containment center. They weren't trying to free us they were trying to trick us. Everyone look! I yelled pointing at the containment center everyone looked at it in horror. The captain of the ship who had "helped" us walked out of the helm. What is going on here?! He barked looking around to see everyone really mad. Get him! Someone yelled as everyone started to attack the captain and crew of the huge ship. Everyone was so busy fighting that no one noticed that there was a storm up ahead. The bote started to shake then the captain released he ran into the helm and started to try and stare away from the storm but it was too late. The ship was violently being whipped around in the storm like a rag doll. Everyone was running around screaming as the ship was getting closer to tipping. I fell over to rail off the boat and into the ice called water I couldn't swim and was struggling to keep my head above the water. I could hear the terrified screams from the people and could only watch on in horror as the ship tipped over crashing into a coral reef a creepy silence filled the air. Pieces of debris from the ship were all rouned me I finally stopped struggling and grabbed onto a piece of wood I and started to cry. All those people were gone m friends and family I was drifting for an hour before I passed out.

I woke up on a piece of driftwood cold and wet, but alive. My head hurt I hissed in pain and looked around there were boys around me fifteen to be precise. I heard whispers come from all around me. Then a boy walked up everyone moved out of his way he was clearly the leader I got up. Who are you? The boy asked with a slight British accent. Only slightly though almost like it wasn't there. Amelia. I said he nodded. Tom. He said I looked around. Where am I? I asked he sighed. The island of no return. The boy said a shiver when down my spine. I put my head to my head it was throbbing. I looked down my regs were wet and had more holes than before. Can you remember anything? Tom asked I was taken back by that question. What? I asked. Can you remember anything about what happened before? He asked I thought for a minute I couldn't remember. I knew basic words and stuff, but about my life and how I got here I couldn't not a thing. I shook my head no he sighed. Alonso will get you some new clothes. He said a boy with red hair walked up to me. This why. He said I followed him looking around I could see everyone around me was a boy no girl in sight. Oh, and welcome. Tom said I stopped and looked at him he was smiling. Something about him seemed familiar, but who knows? I did bash my head in.
