Chapter 20

Picard: Voyager??? Wasn't she lost in the delta quadrant almost 10 years ago if my memory is right? How did she reach the alpha quadrant so quickly?

Voyager: Well Captain its a long story and I think its better if  you hear it after you have fully recovered.

When she responded, Picard started looking at each of them carefully. He obviously recognized the EMH although the uniform was the older one. But apart from that he did not recognize the three women though he felt familiar with one of them ( EE ) but couldn't quite make out why. As he kept staring at Voyager and others lost in thought, the EMH ran more scans and declared him fit. 

EMH: Well captain you are as good as new. There are no Borg nano probes inside and all your injuries have been healed.

Picard: Thank you doctor. Now if I may miss....

Voyager: Voyager

Picard: Miss Voyager where am.......Voyager????? Why is your name the same as that of the ship?

EE: 'sigh' Big sis I think we should explain it now or else it will be troublesome in the future.

Voyager: Fine. Now Captain lets go somewhere comfortable, it going to be a long talk.

The group made their way to the Captain's ready room. Along the way Picard noticed that there were no other crew member and outside one of the windows, he spotted the damaged Enterprise and a deactivated Borg cube. Questions upon questions were piling in the captain's mind but, he held it in waiting for the explanation. They reached the captain's ready room and everyone became comfortable. Voyager then offered drinks to everyone and started the explanation with EE and Enterprise adding in between. After nearly two hours of explanation, Picard was sitting there in silence mulling over what he just heard.

Picard: So if I got this right; Voyager used a new warp drive to get home fast but due to the alien attack it malfunctioned and arrived at a different universe leading to the ship taking on a Human form. The Borg having captured my ship somehow ended up in this universe and also became human with the only surviving crew member being me. And this universe has Earth's 20th century ships in human form fighting an alien race called Sirens.

EE: Yes that's about right captain.

Picard: So you are my ship. No wonder I felt you were familiar.

EE having heard that her Captain recognized her became emotional and started hugged Picard.

EE: 'sniff' Caaaaptain I missed you. I lost my crew. I am so sorry captain. I couldn't do anything.

Picard: There there don't cry. Its not your fault. Everyone knows how well the Borg are at adapting quickly. So even a Sovereign class would run out of weapons fast.

Voyager and Enterprise were looking at them with warm smiles when EE realized what she was doing and turned red.

EE: Sorry about that Captain.

Picard: That's fine you are still young so I am sure you need help and judging by looks seems like miss Voyager has taken on that roll for you.

Voyager: Well we do have Enterprise here. She is  EE's greaaaaat grandmother.

Picard: Well judging by how you pulled the word great I assume she is also a 20th century ship.

Enterprise: Yes. I am USS Enterprise CV-6 2nd of Yorktown class carriers. Nice to meet you captain.

Picard: Like wise. But Voyager isn't it a violation of prime directive to have contact with a pre warp civilization?

Voyager: It is captain but we need allies and a base here. After all we are in a different universe and the chances of returning are almost none. And even if there is a chance I am not going to return back.
