Horace talked about clothes just like Olive and Claire said, and then in the middle of his rant about clothing, he said that if it wasn't a bother, Enoch would be joining us in talking. I didn't mind him talking with me and Horace, but I think it was the other way around; I was the bother to Enoch. I explained why to Horace, and he smiled a bit and told me he's always like that and assured me he'd like me. While we were walking to where Enoch and Horace were talking, Horace talked about clothes, but I couldn't understand most of the fabrics he was talking about, so I just nodded.

Once we made it, I saw Enoch and a blanket on the ground. Enoch was on the grass watching his dolls—no, homunculi. Claire told me he gets really angry when people say dolls. He glared at me, and I waved, trying to look like this 12-year-old didn't intimidate me. I sat down on the blanket Horace had placed there, and Horace properly introduced me to him. He nodded and went back to working on his homunculi.

Then Horace went back to talking to me about clothes, and Enoch made snarky comments from time to time. Horace mostly talked, but this time he let me speak a bit more than Olive and Claire did. He asked me how my peculiarity works, and I said, "I think my peculiarity is connected to my emotions when they get really strong." Like when I'm angry, sad, or some other really strong emotion." His eyes widened slightly before he told me that it must have been cool to have that kind of peculiarity that works like that. Then I told him I hadn't really gotten the hang of it, but he assured me, saying, "With the training of Miss Peregrine, I'm sure you'll be the best at memory erasing!" Then he went on and on about clothes, but for some reason, I think Enoch was the only one who listened to Horace's rant about clothes and surprisingly understood all of these fabric names, clothing brands, and what color suited everyone in the home.

I dosed off a bit, and I saw Fiona and Hugh gardening, and they waved at me, and I waved back. Then Enoch asked me how I got here and how I could speak English when I came from another country. I thought about this for a moment before saying, "I traveled here by foot with Miss Peregrine's guide helping me on a boat. In the past, The Philippines had been colonized by a lot of countries, and one of them appeared to be the Americans, so I learned a bit of English, and Miss Peregrine helped me learn a lot of English after that. Oh, while on the boat, I turned 16."

Horace commented wide-eyed. "My condolences, but that was probably the most fascinating story I've heard for a peculiar leaving to come with an Ymbryne." I smiled slightly, not knowing how to react but pleased that they were somewhat interested in my past.

Enoch said the phrase "An eye for an eye", and told me some of his past. He told me his parents owned a morgue, and he lived with two younger sisters. He then told me he revived the dead people in the morgue. Then, after a while of that, Miss Peregrine found him. I didn't question how there were many gaps within the story but instead asked, "What does "An eye for an eye" mean?" Horace told me that it meant exchanging something for something similar or the same, then mentioned something about Hammurabi's Code, but I stopped listening after that to understand what I just heard from Enoch.

He didn't say much about his past, but something about him reminded him of him, but he couldn't place his finger on it. Then Horace told him to "assure you if you still feel worried." Miss Peregrine can erase memories on "The Normals," so she would probably be one of the best at training me. I smiled softly at him, but soon after, Miss Peregrine called me in to have a talk. I glanced back at Horace and Enoch once I walked to the house. Horace smiled and placed a thumbs up for me, and Enoch mouthed "Good Luck". I swear, there must be something going on between them.
