One last time

He was scared.

He was scared and alone.

And it hurt. So much. he didn't know it was possible, he would scream, he would bleed, he would beg.

He wasn't scared for himself, no, but glimmer, she was who he was scared for. she could be awake now, he didn't know, she could be dying now, he didn't know, he just hoped that no matter what, she wouldn't tell him, no not for him. it didn't matter what happened to him, he could starve, drown, burn alive, freeze to death, whatever the fuck he wanted to do with him, it didn't matter, as long as she didn't put him above the everything else in the universe. They don't deserve that, he doesn't deserve that.
As long as it's him getting the beating, as long as it's his name being edged on the tombstone, as long as it's him who probably won't make it out of this... everything was fine. this way he could protect her. So as he collapsed from the pain he would promise to himself in his head

He would always protect her.

Glimmer wished she could stop it

She wished she could go home

She wished that the sounds of his screams would stop coming

She wished she could run up to him and tell him that it would all be ok.

But most of all, glimmer wished she could be selfish.

Just this once

She wished she could just tell him what he wants to know, and be able to make it stop, to comfort him, to go home, to stop his begging.

but she can't.

She literally can't.

She doesn't know what he wants.

Because if she did, she would tell him

She would tell him the moment he lay a finger on him

They were killing him

But she doesn't know how to reverse the fail safe.

She is utterly powerless.

And she doesn't see how help will even reach her.
