When she awoke it was slowly this time. She could hear their voices speaking low and she kept her eyes shut and listened.
"How long does it take to get to Bobby's cabin from here?" Sam's voice sounded concerned.
"About another ten hours."
"And what happens when we get there?" "We just hand her over to an angel to get killed?" "I mean I know she's a Nephalem but it just doesn't seem right."
"No Sam, she's THE Nephalem." "Innocent or not, she can't be trusted to be left out in the world."
"So we kill her?" "And innocent girl who's clearly done nothing wrong?" "She doesn't even use her powers if she even has them." "Don't you think that if she wanted to hurt us she would have when we kidnapped her?" "It just doesn't feel right." "It doesn't feel like us."
"Well, it really doesn't matter anymore if it feels like us or not." "We told Cass we would bring her to Bobby's place for him and we are." "End of story."
There was silence and Emma felt the pit in her stomach worsen. So they weren't planning on killing her, they were going to let an angel do it. She could feel herself becoming more and more anxious. She regretted not hiding, not running when she heard the knock on her door. She had never thought anyone would come for her because she had never allowed herself to use her power. She hardly even knew what she was capable of because she had chosen to live a solitary and normal life for all of her 28 years. But, by the time Sam and Dean had entered her home, she knew that she had made a mistake. She should have hidden, blending in wasn't good enough. The hunters had found her.
As tears escaped her eyes she opened them. She instantly regretted it as she locked eyes with Dean in the rearview mirror. She dropped her gaze and wiped her face on her arm. Her hands still bound she tried to adjust herself in the seat.
"Sit still." "Before you fall again." Dean's voice sounded almost concerned and yet still stern.
"Do you have any water?" She asked quietly. Dean stared at her in the rearview mirror and then answered.
"Yeah, I'll pull over." He pulled the Impala to the side of the road and walked around to her door. He opened it and reached under her feet where a cooler sat. Inside was mostly beer and a bottle
of water. He opened it and she wondered how he thought she would take it. She looked up at him
and he rolled his eyes and then held the bottle up to her lips."Thank you." He paused and his eyes lingered on her for a moment.
"Sure." It was quiet for a moment before Sam's voice cut the silence.
"I think we should get back on the road." "It's only a couple of miles to the next motel." "We can stop there for the night."
"Sounds like a plan." Dean said as he climbed back into the driver's seat. They drove a couple more miles until they reached a motel that looked more haunted than habitable. Emma felt the knot in her stomach grow again as they parked the car. Dean got out and disappeared into the office for ten minutes. When he returned he had a room
key in his hand. "Everyone out." He looked at Emma and opened up the door for her. She slid out and stood beside the car while Sam and Dean grabbed some bags from the trunk. Dean grabbed her arm again and led her toward the motel room door. Once inside her anxiety grew. The room was dusty and dark. There was a table
with a missing leg and two beds. A lamp dimly lit the room. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in some time and the carpet underneath her was faded and covered in dirt. "Nice!" Dean proclaimed as he threw his bag down on one of the beds. She swallowed hard. This place was actually worse then the back seat of the Impala.
