The next morning's sun brought fresh anxiety. Emma awoke suddenly and immediately felt the bite of the bite of the bind around her wrist. Her arm had fallen asleep during the night and she could feel her fingers falling asleep. The cabin was relatively quiet and she wondered if Dean and Sam were asleep. She knew that the angel didn't sleep and it made her nervous to think about where he might be. She shifted her weight in the bed and tried to pull the T-shirt clinging to her down further over her exposed legs. She had removed her jeans during the night in an effort to sleep somewhat comfortably and she was just now realising that it was easier to take them off with one hand rather than put them back on. She could feel the breeze from the window lifting the hairs on her forehead and she tried to blink the sleep from her eyes. A shadow filled the door. Its broad shoulders took up the frame and its slow movements were silent except for the sound of its breathing. Dean leaned his arm up against the doorframe and stood staring at her for a moment. She noted the muscles on his neck twitch as he took her in. He opened his mouth as if to say something but closed it just as fast and continued to stare her down with glittering green eyes. Finally words escaped his lips. "Good morning Princess." His voice was low and he spoke slowly. She felt herself shift in the bed again and she tried everything to avoid his gaze. He approached her and she felt a warm rush overtake her. He reached up and untied her wrist from the bedpost. "It's about time you were getting up." He said sternly. "Take a shower and get dressed." "I left clothes for you in the bathroom." She looked up at him confused but nodded silently. He walked away as fast as he had come and she slid out of the bed and felt the rough wood floor beneath her feet. Upon entering the bathroom she found a pair of fresh jeans and a T-shirt laying on the sink. There was also a clean bra and panties with the tags on. She wondered which of the brothers had shopped for this. She felt a little uneasy but grateful for the clean clothes. She turned the water on and ran her hand under its warmth. When she stepped in, the water instantly relaxed her and she let it run over her body. She washed her hair and let the soap run down her stomach and legs. The warmth overtook her and she closed her eyes. Suddenly she heard a knock on the door. Dean's voice interrupted her moment of peace. "He princess!" "maybe leave some warm water for the rest of us!" She rolled her eyes glad he couldn't see her and turned off the water. She stepped out and wrapped a towel around her small frame before stepping out and dressing in the new clothes. Her wet hair stuck to her face and neck and the breeze from the window chilled her. She opened the bathroom door to be confronted by three intent gazes. She stopped short as they stared. Sam interrupted the awkward pause.

"Uh, you should get some shoes on, we are going to head out." He nodded at her and she blinked as if to respond yes. She ducked past Dean and Cas and entered the bedroom where her socks and sneakers were. She quickly put them down and sat on the floor for a moment. Dean entered and immediately apologised, holding out a pair of strange looking handcuffs.

"Sorry, I have to put these on now." Cas said they are Nephalem proof or something like that." His voice trailed off. "Can't have you escaping." He said in a low voice. She stared up at him for a moment before standing. "Turn around." His voice was forceful but kind. She did and he put the cuffs on her wrists. He had to tighten them almost all the way to fit her small wrists. He stepped closer to her after securing them and she could feel his breath on her neck. "I'm sorry if I was a dick to you earlier while we were coming here." "I guess I just assumed that you were like every other monster out there, ready to be evil or something." His voice trailed off again but then became stern. "Just don't give me a reason to change my mind again." She looked backward at him and nodded. He put his hand gently on her lower back and led her from the room. Sam and Castiel were waiting in the kitchen. The light of the day shone through the window and Emma could only feel Dean's hand on her back and the breeze playing on her hair.

She could see the Impala parked outside and they walked out like a silent parade. Dean opened the door to the back seat and she got in. He walked around and started the engine. She could feel it humming underneath her. She looked out the window for a moment before catching Dean's stern look in the rearview mirror. She drew a short breath and tried to hide the thoughts dancing across her eyes. He thought she was more good than bad, he didn't trust her but she knew that he wanted to think of her as better rather than worse. She feared his ability and he feared her intentions. The tension was thick and Emma felt her breath catching in her throat. The trees began to rush by and she felt her heartbeat quicken. Her thoughts overtook her and she closed her eyes. Her mind spoke to her in a whisper only she could hear. If they only knew....
