Dean laid her gently in the backseat of the impala and closed the door. "Dean?" Sam's quiet voice tried to make sure his brother was okay.
"Not yet Sammy." Dean said in a low voice. He got into the driver's seat and glanced back at Emma one more time before driving away from the warehouse. The sun beat down and the trees rushed by them as Emma stared up at them through the window. The bracelet was still clenched around her wrist and her skin burned beneath it. She felt her eyes flash purple as her power tried to surge from her body. She tried to breathe through it as tears streamed down her face. The engine hummed beneath her and blood dripped from Dean's forehead to his seat. By the time they got to a motel Emma had slipped in and out of sleep. She opened her eyes to Dean lifting her from the car and carrying her inside the room. He laid her gently on one of the beds and turned to Sam who stood in the doorway. "Can you get me something to uh clean her face?" He asked him, voice was shaking slightly.
"Yeah, of course." Sam said gently. He went to the bathroom and emerged holding a damp cloth. Dean took it with a nod and walked over to Emma who looked up at him from the bed. He touched her bleeding cheek with the towel. "I'm sorry love." He said as she winced at his touch.
"You're bleeding too." She said and reached up toward his forehead.
"I'm okay." He said as he continued to clean her face. "Rest now." He covered her with the blanket from the end of the bed. As he did the door opened and he jumped up. His body stiffened and his hands clenched into fists.
"It's Cas!" Sam assured him with a concerned look. Castiel walked through the door and immediately looked surprised and horrified at the sight of Dean's bloodied face and Emma lying on the bed. "What happened?" He exclaimed.
"Feathered bastards." Dean answered him. Cas glanced at Dean's hands and face and then at Emma.
"Did you kill them?" He said slowly
"What do you think?" Dean answered.
"That's a yes." Castiel said with a sigh. He walked to the side of the bed and looked at Emma. Dean walked over to him and he looked up at his bloody face. "Let me heal you." He reached up to touch Dean's face.
"Her first." Dean said forcefully.
"Okay." Cas leaned down toward Emma and she pulled away with a nervous hum. "It's okay Emma." Said Cas. "I will help you." "Let me help." She nodded and looked up at Dean who nodded as well. Cas reached forward and touched her forehead. Warmth flooded her and she closed her eyes. The pain drained from her face and the bruises and cuts disappeared. Dean sighed with relief. "Now you." Cas pleaded with Dean. He nodded and Cas touched his forehead. The cuts and bruises left his face and Cas glanced down at Dean's bruised and bloodied knuckles.
"No, leave them." Said Dean as he retracted his hands.
"Very well." Answered Cas. He turned to Sam who shook his head.
"I'm okay Cas, thanks." The angel nodded. "Why don't we go Cas?" Offered Sam trying to give Dean and Emma some space. "We can do a beer run and get some food, maybe do some digging for some clues." Cas glanced at Dean and Emma.
"Okay." He said. He and Sam left the room, closing the door behind them.
Dean sighed, sitting down on the bed next to Emma. He reached out and traced her healed face with his fingers. She looked up at him and offered a small smile. He traced her lips where the cut had been and she found herself softly kissing his fingertips. He traced her chin and ran his fingers gently down her neck. Her body shuddered with want at his touch. His green eyes darkened and filled with desire as she grabbed the front of his T-shirt and pulled his lips to hers. He kissed her warmly as he lay down on the bed behind her. "We should shower." He whispered in her ear. She nodded and he swung himself off of the bed and disappeared into the bathroom. When she heard the water running she followed him in and he turned and asked, "Okay if I join you?" She smiled,
