North's eyes widened to the size of animated saucers, pupils contracting, and mind reeling from complete surprise.
"Y-you wha-what?" Her sputtering voice was met with a quick grin sent from Cedric.
Cedric freaking Chauvert.
Kill me now, if there is any justice in the world,
someone kill. Me. Now.
Her pleading thoughts filled the shocked silence dominating her head.
"So, where we headin'?" His southern accent, again almost made her melt from the top hair on her head, to the tips of her feet.
He was like a perfection roll, dipped in devilish enticement.
Damn him.
Black eyes flickered wildy, laughing at some obscene emotion gracing her face. He didn't look like- whatever he just went through, he didn't act like it either.
"No, you!" She pointed at him furiously, "y-you need to get out of my fucking car."
Her last words were breathy flimsy even, like a butterfly's wings. Airy, and- and stupid.
"No North." It was simple. Just a no. Except for the fact that his eyes dipped lower, his lip curled viciously, and he sounded like he was grunting through every word that poured out of his stupid, perfect, stupid, mouth.
"We're going to go where you were headed before, right?" She nodded dumbly.
"And you're not even gonna say a word, don't you worry your pretty little head about tellin' your sister about what happened tonight, okay?"
No, she should be against this, she should be very pissed, and very scared at the thought of her mother even hearing rumors of her and the black eyed boy in the same airspace, let alone car.
He slyly grinned, eyes flickering between gold and black like violent street lights.
Was that a trick of the light, or- or something.
Cedric's eyes narrowed on her again, sharply cutting off her doubts.
Something more?
But then again, it was well into the night and her eyes were feeling heavy enough that he could look like an ogre and she wouldn't noticed, nor given a damn.
"I-I guess my sister's place," giving in wasn't an option, wasn't something in a million years she would've ever agreed to doing. So why now? Why to the one person she never would've even considered going near, let alone take to her sister's.
But there she went, turning the silver key forward, and pressing lightly on the acceleration.
The truck purred lowly, growling under the hood like a feral cat.
It sounded fine.
Fucking fine.
Since when did her car sound fine?
Since never.
"W-why does the car sound okay?"
Black eyes met her own, lazily blinking for a brief moment of awkward acknowledgement, a smile leisurely spread across his face, almost tiredly he rolled his head along the seat to look out of the window.
