"Hurry up, all the good ones will be gone by the time that we get there, hurry up. MOM!" A small child tugs on his mothers hand, dragging across the sidewalk to a small building. His anxious voice made his blond haired mother laugh. Using her hand to cover her smile, trying not to offend her small child, she simply nodded with her eyes closed. Her shoes made slight "Thump" sounds, while her child's made loud "Thud" sounds. His small hand tugged on his mothers trying to speed up her pace, but alas he stayed the same speed.
"Mathew," his mothers happy voice snapped the child out of his own little 'mission' to their destination. His hazel eyes connected with his mothers brown ones. His stare had a questioning look to it, causing his light brown mother to giggle even more. "They'll be there when we get there, don't worry they aren't going anywhere," his mother tried reasoning. The little boy just looked at his mother in shock.
"Of course they won't be gone by the time we get there, we just need to hurry," Mathew said as he tugged his mother's hand with his small child like one, even faster. His mother sighed as she started to speed up, obeying her sons wish. Her other hand fell to her side as she smiled a regular smile. Mathews eyes sparkled as he saw his mother start to walk faster, he stopped tugging on her hand and just walked next to her as they sped walked to their destination. The soft wind sang as they walked through the park, a short cut to their own little destination. As his mother glanced down at him, she smiled. Her smile reached her eyes, happy that he was so excited to finally get a pet.
"Mom, look i can see the store come on," Mathew shouted with joy as he saw the small red building. As they entered the small red building a bell went off, indicating that they entered. Yips, and yowls filled the air along with a few bird calls. The young boy ran over to the small puppy's, his mother trailing behind him. Her brown orbs glanced around the room as the scent of pine filled her nose. She didn't know why but she expected it to smell like something else. Her sons cry caught his mothers attention. Snapping her head in his direction, she caught sight of a small puppy licking the young boys face. His squeals o happiness filled his mother with joy.
"Mommy, i want this one, please, please, please!" Mathew begged as he hugged the small malty colored puppy closer to his small frame. His eyes grew wide as he starred at his mother, begging her with the 'puppy eye.' This caused his mother to laugh and nod her head, happy that he could find a partner. Mathews eyes filled o the brim with happiness as he hugged the young puppy even tighter. The young animal just yipped with happiness, licked its new masters face, and yipped even more. Mathew set the puppy down and stared into its golden eyes.
"I'm going to name you, Hmmmmm.... I KNOW!! Your name is going to be Rocky," the young boy exclaimed causing the puppy to yelp with agreement. Mathew knelt down on his knees and hugged the puppy yet again. Running his hands through its slick fur the boy just sat there, loving on the small animal, allowing his mother to buy the animal.
"Don't know why your young one got the runt, anyone just walks buy it, not giving it a second glance," the store clerk told Mathews mom. Her eyes glanced at her son, watching as he just sat there talking to the small creature, acting as if it was any human being, she watched as the new friendship bloomed between human and animal. She smiled as she met eyes with the store clerk.
"My son isn't anyone," Mathews mother said as she handed the store clerk the money he needed top buy the animal. She glanced back at her son seeing him in the same position, his smile seemed to brightened up the store. His mother snapped her gaze back to the clerk, finishing her sentence.
"My son is a someone."
