Lumabas ako ng kwarto at namataan ang pagkain na inihanda niya na nasa mesa. Abot langit na siguro ang ngiti ko habang tinatanggal ko ang mga takip. Para akong chitcharon na nilunod sa mainit na mantika, at halos hindi ko na kilala ang sarili ko.

Bahagya akong napatigil ng may naririnig akong mga boses. It came from Valan's office. Malaki kasi ang kwarto niya at may sarili pa siyang opisina dito. I slowly walked the distance while maintaining my silence.

I can hear Lutch and Admiral talking to Valan in his office but their conversation eludes my understanding. With bread on my hand I slowly opened the door and entered.

"Uhmm, good morning?" bigkas ko dahilan para matigil sila sa pag-uusap. All three of them turned and looked at me.

"Selene! We missed you!"

Lutch and Admiral hurriedly went to my side and gave me a tight hug. I returned the warm embrace of Lutch and Admiral, feeling their genuine affection. It had been a while since we last saw each other, and their presence brought a sense of familiarity and comfort.

"I missed you both too," I said, a smile gracing my lips. "How have you been?"

Lutch grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Oh, you know, the usual chaos and adventures. But it's not the same without you around."

Admiral nodded in agreement. "We've been keeping things in order, but it's not as fun without our fearless Selene!"

"And how about you, Valan?" I asked, my gaze meeting him. "Have you been keeping busy?"
