(My goodness. It has been a minute, huh? I've been so busy with other things I haven't been able to write lately! So sorry for the long absence. Currently trying to write as much as I can for this book and the others, so please bear with me & I promise I'll upload more <3)
My parents and Eisley had come out to the set with me so that they could watch Johnny work and meet some of the other cast and production team. Eisley was loving it. She was running around and playing with John when he would have a chance to take a five or ten minute break. Unlike me, his wardrobe and makeup didn't faze her whatsoever. Clearly, I'm the wimp here. I'm glad I always bring my camera with me because I was able to get some cute photos of the two of them. It was so precious to watch them together. He's so enamored with her and just loves being able to have these moments.
"I feel like I'm going to pass out from this damn heat. How does he do this?"
"I don't know. He comes back to the room dripping in pure sweat and I still can't figure it out. He's more equipped than me and we come from Florida. We can go into the trailer if y'all want to. It's nice and cool in there." And without missing a beat, we made our way to the trailer and got settled down and sat together.
"When do you guys leave?" I asked.
"Tonight. We have to get back and get her ready for Kindergarten."
"Jesus. Time just passes by so fast and now she's already starting school."
"I know. That's how it was with you. It just passed in the blink of an eye."
"Well, great. And I'm missing most of it."
"You know it's not your fault, sweetheart."
"I know, but still." The door to the trailer swung open and in stepped Johnny breathing heavily. I reached my arm out with a bottle of water in my hand and handed it to him. He sat down beside me a chugged it down.
"Are you okay?" I asked as I grabbed a towel and patted his face and neck.
"Yeah, I'm okay, babe. Thank you." He smiled and kissed my cheek. We sat there and talked as Eisley and Johnny had their little drawing time together. My mom and I would look at them and then at each other and just have a smile on our face. It was so cute to watch those two together.
8:30 PM
Johnny and I had made it back to the hotel after saying our goodbyes to them and Sean took them to the airport. I had gotten into bed and continued reading while Johnny was in the shower. I could tell having to say goodbye to Eisley was difficult for him and it breaks my heart. He didn't want to let her go.
After a little bit, he finally stepped out and stood at the edge of the bed and had such a sad look on his face. Fuck, that's even more heartbreaking.
"Oh, John..." I crawled over on my knees and latched my arms around his neck, holding him tight. His arms gripped tightly around me and he let out a loud sigh and sniffled a bit.
"This is so difficult." He whispered. I gently scratched the back of his head and pulled away to look at him.
"I know, sweetheart. It'll be okay, I promise." I wiped my thumb across his cheeks and gave him a soft kiss.
"It's just hard, baby. It's like a punch in the chest every time. I mean it fucking hurts to do this without you and not have you with me everywhere I go. This is that same feeling with Eisley too." I settled into the bed and had him lay with me as I curled up with him and held him, running my fingers through his hair.
"I know, baby. Listen, I know exactly how you feel. I feel the same way. I promise we can do this. You can do this. You know that little baby loves you to death. Every time she sees you she always goes running right into your arms and she will do the same thing when we get back home and you know that. She sees that you and I work and she understands we have to. And it's great that we can always call her and Skype with her so she knows were there just in different places." He looked at me for a moment and took a few breaths, eventually spreading a smile on his face.
