Withering Away

Within myself I have found
The essence of nothingness
Faces long forgotten
The void takes over all sentiments
My mind cannot escape the terror
Reliving trauma after trauma

Cannot escape from abhorrent nights
When I want to think of love
I see the faces of my murderers flashing
Rescued I might never be
Kisses remain cold daggers
A person might never be my haven

This rose of mine is nearly dead
Vain hope is all I have
Inspiring every sexain that I write
And until all of me is dried out
I'll create them even if I'm blank
I won't give up until I'm one with the soil

If I wither away, don't be sad
I had nothing left to live for anyway
But I had the chance to be amazed
By the brilliant colors of a sunlit world
To smile and to love with depths so great
I was a flash of miraculous light
