"Y/n, come here!" A boy with raven hair spoke.
He was standing next to a young boy that had a peach hair color and was wearing a yellow and green kimono.
The young child stood up from her futon and ran towards the boy calling her like a lost child.
She hugged him and cried.
"There there, Y/n." The peach haired boy smiled. "I promise we would be back after the Final Selection.".
She looked at him and walked towards him. Engulfing the boy in a hug. "But- but what if.. just what if you don't? I have a bad feeling!" She said in between sobs and sniffles.
The ravenette patted her head and smiled. "We have to hurry, Y/n. I love you!" He said.
The girl, Y/n, nodded and smiled. She hugged both boys again and backed away a few steps before them. They both nodded their heads and warmly smiled.
❧Your pov
I waved my hand as they walked off. I watched them until they completely disappeared from my sight. I wasn't lying about the bad feeling, actually. My heart keeps thumping hard and I have a sick feeling in my stomach, like I want to puke.
I felt as if something bad was gonna happen. I was nervous. I trust myself because my instincts are, at the end, always right. There's no guarantee that both of them are safe from the demons lurking in the dark of the night.
I teared up again at the thought of the demons. Just then, I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned my head at the direction the hand was in.
"Don't worry, Y/n. I'm sure they would make it to the seventh day." The old man said. "I know, Urokodaki-san. But I can't help but worry for them, you know? They're my only family left." With that, I smiled weakly and walked away.
I opened the door to my shared room and reminisced my memories with my brother and Sabito. I smiled and laid down on my futon. I drifted off to sleep and slept a night full of nightmares about Sabito or Giyuu dying.
»Inside the dream
*I walked down the path of wisteria trees, admiring the view. I walked for what seemed like hours. I saw Giyuu and Sabito. "Guys! Wait for me!" I yelled. They ignored me and kept walking until they reached a large gate. It opened by itself and they walked in, with me following them.*
*As soon as I stepped inside of the gate, my surroundings warped and I fell through a black hole.*
*I was falling and falling.. it seemed like hours but I knew I was there for only a few minutes.*
*I landed softly on the ground and a disgusting scent filled my nostrils. I widened my eyes in shock. You could smell nothing but iron in the air. The smell of blood filled the surroundings.*
*I moved towards where I could sense bloodlust and yelled. Sabito was there but.. Giyuu was nowhere to be found! I frantically looked around until I heard bones crunching.*
*My heart stopped and I was breathing heavily. Tears uncontrollably fell through my cheeks and my whole body shook.*
*There he was, lying on the floor, his head* crushed.
*I quickly ran towards him and shouted his name. I think he could see me, because he used his last energy to caress my cheeks and tears dropped at what looked like his eyes.*
"Sabit- Sabito! Please, stay.. stay alive!"
*He looked at me with smiling eyes and his hand dropped to the floor. I gasped and held his hand but a whirlpool pulled me to the ground and I woke up.*
»Outside the dream
I woke up panting and felt tears on my cheeks. I felt a wet towel on my forehead and cried out loud.
The window was open and my clothes were soaked. Urokodaki-san hurried into the room and kneeled down.
"You're finally awake. You've been asleep for about a week and you've been running an extremely high fever. I prepared food for you in case you woke up, so head outside after changing your clothes." He said.
I looked at him and immediately hurried to tell him about my dream. "Urokodaki- Urokodaki-san! I had a dream.. I- I don't know if it was the future but, in my dream, I saw that Sabito's head was crushed! The atmosphere was filled with the horrifying stench of blood and- he could see and touch me when he died!" I frantically said.
I couldn't see his expression but I was sure it was a worried one.
Suddenly, a voice from the doorway spoke. "You're right. As you always are."
It was Giyuu.
He collapsed to the floor and blood stained the wood.
I immediately stood up and carefully dragged him over to his futon. I noticed that he was holding a piece of the kimono that Sabito owned, and my heart ached.
I put it aside and removed his clothes from his torso. I ran outside and picked up a bucket. I went to the nearest river and filled the bucket up with water.
I hurried back home and got a towel. I went to the room and dipped the towel in water. I put it over his torso and squeezed it. Luckily, he only had cuts, so the water washed away most of the blood and dirt. I wrapped bandages around his torso and went outside the room, tearing up quite a bit. I went back to the riverside and rested my back on my favorite tree. I cried my eyes and heart out.
Sunset came and I lifted my head up. I had fallen asleep and I was ashamed of myself. I wiped my puffy eyes and stood up. I sniffled and walked back to our home.
I stepped inside and checked on Giyuu. He was awake and was already eating. I sat down and quietly said "Itadakimasu" before eating.
I finished my bowl before they did and immediately headed to the room. I laid down on my futon and cried some more, but quietly. I heard Giyuu step in. He was forced to lay down on Sabito's futon since his was soaked in water and blood. I could hear his sniffles and I laid awake until he quieted down. I lay there and looked at the ceiling.
It was very hard for us, because we also lost Tsutako-neesan.
A single tear fell on my cheeks and I dozed off to sleep.
