After the event that happened a year ago that turned Merida's mother, Queen Elinor and her three brothers into bears, everything went back to normal, well a few things changed during the months. Merida's brothers started to practice sword fighting with their Father and Merida also gets to teach them archery, Queen Elinor is now more open to her daughters suggestions and Their mother and daughter relationship couldn't be any stronger.

It was a peaceful morning in the Clan DunBroch, as people are going about their day. Merida was in the stables prepping her horse Angus, for a morning walk.
"Ah- Jeez Angus yer giving me a headache! I can't put the saddle on you if ya keep moving." Merida said with frustration as she tries to put on the saddle on Angus, but Angus did not want to cooperate for some reason.

Merida sighed and placed a hand on Angus's head as she caresses him.
"What's wrong with you today Angus?, are ya feeling a wee bit crabbit today?"
Angus only answered with a small groan to signify that he was uncomfortable.

Merida noticed Angus's sound of discomfort so she thought that Angus must have not been feeling well today.
"Awright... Angus it Seems like you ain't feeling well today...I guess i could take my morning walk by myself."
Merida said as she thought about for a bit before making up her mind and speaking once more. "Ya I guess i could take my morning walk by myself for a change, so you stay here and rest Angus"
Merida said with a comforting smile before starting to walk away but she was suddenly stopped by Angus blocking her way with his head as Angus neighed once more.

"Angus... What's wrong with you today..?" Merida said with a concerned tone as she sighed once more.
"Don't yer worry Angus, you'll get better in the morning..so until then behave yerself...please."
Merida said with a comforting voice as she jumped over the fence of the stable since Angus was refusing to move.
"I'll be back to check on ya Angus!"
Merida said as she waved goodbye and started walking towards the exit of the kingdom.

As Merida walks around the town glancing around at the people passing by and doing their own thing, all of a sudden a friendly vendor called out Merida's name and tossed her an apple which Merida successfully catched. "Thanks for the apple" Merida said smiling while giving a small wave at the friendly vendor. As Merida bit into the apple she saw her mother Queen Elinor speaking to one of the town's people so Merida decided to walk up to her and greet her.

"Hey Mom!"
Merida said with a slightly loud voice behind her mother which made her mother jump a bit at the sudden loud voice behind her.
"Merida! You scared me." Queen Elinor said as she turned around to look at her daughter and sighed but also it made her chuckle a bit.
"Sorry Mom just came to greet yer Goodmorning" Merida said chuckling a bit.
"Well you did gave me a great waking up call." Queen Elinor joked as both her and Merida laughed a bit.
"Ahem. So where are you off to Merida? I thought you were going to do your usual morning walk with Angus?" Queen Elinor questioned.
"Well...you see Angus was feeling a bit to crabbit today.. so i decided to take my morning walk by myself" Merida said with a smile but Queen Elinor did not like the idea of her daughter walking alone in a forest all by herself.

"Thats awfully dangerous walking alone in the forest Merida.."
Queen Elinor said with a worried expression and tone.
Merida sighed but she understands the worry of her mother.
"Don't yer worry Mom, I can perfectly defend myself, besides im not a wee kid anymore." Merida said.
Queen Elinor looked at her daughter for a bit before sighing and placed both of her hands on her daughters cheek as she spoke.
"Fine i'll let ya go but yer better be back early no pitch stops and no distractions, I want yer to be home before lunch, Okay?." Queen Elinor said with a stricter voice. Merida smiled knowing how her Mother agreed to let her go.
"Ofcourse Mom! I'll be extra careful" Merida said with affirmation. Queen Elinor looked at her daughter for a bit and sighed before giving a kiss on her daughters forehead "Okay then off ya go then" Queen Elinor then let go of her daughter as Merida smiled and started walking away while giving a small wave of goodbye to her mother.

Merida now reached the exit of the kingdom as she walked under the arch of stone and walked across the bridge and started walking towards the forest oblivious to what has to come.
