Monday, August 30th
I stare at myself in the mirror, splashing cold water onto my face. I'll be fine. I am okay. The killer won't be here, and there's not even that many people anyway. They're just people. It'll be okay. A part of me can't help, but wish that Luci was here. He can't be here. Many people would die. Besides, Lexi said she would meet up with me in a bit. I hope she doesn't take too long.
I turn around, jumping as I stare at a pair of violet eyes staring back. She grins, her eyes lighting up, "Hello, Morgan."
"Erin, hey," I chuckle nervously as she stands in front of me, refusing to move.
"I didn't know you liked to party."
"Yeah, definitely do," I nod, as I scoot to the side, and around her. I know I'm supposed to be looking for her brother, but there's something about her that throws me off. Like she's not human, like maybe a goddess or something. She's just...enticing?
"Me too," She smiles as she moves to the sink, staring at me in the mirror, "I'm sure Vincent would like to see you. He's waiting at the bar for me if you want to go say hi."
"Thanks, I probably will," I give her a little wave as I leave the bathroom. That wasn't so bad, besides now I know where Vincent is.
As I make my way through the club, I spot the bar. I shove my way through the dancing crowds to make my way there. The bartender glances at my hands and shakes his head.
"I'm not here for a drink," I kind of shout at him.
"Then what are you here for?" A voice asks right behind my ear, breath tickling my neck.
Spinning on my heel I come face to face with violet eyes, "Oh, hey Vincent. You, actually."
"Me?" Vincent cocks an eyebrow and grins, "How bold."
"Um, your sister said you'd be here," I say, "She told me to come say hi."
"Oh, I see," He gives me a pout, but his eyes betray him, "You didn't come on your own accord."
"Did you want me to come on my own accord," I ask, not knowing what I'm doing.
"Maybe," He grins again.
"Well, I'm here, and hello," I say, awkwardly. I hate myself sometimes.
"I see that, hello," Vincent's grin remains, "I know I'm supposed to wait for my sister, but do you want to dance?"
"Actually, I wouldn't mind," I shrug. My brain's already fried anyway.
"Perfect," Vincent purrs, taking my hand and leading me to the dance floor.
I bump into someone and they spin around, "Hey, watch it!"
"Sorry," I mutter, but they're not longer paying attention to me. Instead, they're staring at Vincent, who's just staring at them.
"Watch where you're going," Vincent tells the guy.
"Uh, my bad," The guy mutters before glancing at me, "Sorry."
"It's fine?" I mutter as Vincent pulls me along. We trail through the many bodies until we're in the center. The lights dance around us as the music vibrates through the room. I can feel the heat from everyone around me. It's kind of suffocating.
"Hey," Vincent draws my attention back to him, "Just focus on me. Pretend no one else is here. It's okay."
How did he know everything was stressing me out? Does he have some kind of magic powers? I say, "Okay."
Our bodies move together as I stare into his violet eyes. Soon I ignore everyone else around me, they disappear into the background. The music continues to thump, but it sounds lower and not as aggressive, "See, isn't that better?"
"Yeah, it is," I nod, continuing to sway my body with his. He twirls me around to where my back is up against him. He lowers his face into my neck, sending chills up my spine.
"So, why did you come to the club tonight?" His voice tickles my ear, "And alone at that? I'm assuming you came alone."
"I..Lexi is supposed to join me in a bit," I say back, trying to keep my voice from wavering, "and I decided why not party it up tonight?"
"I'm surprised your boyfriend didn't come with you," Vincent whispers, his hands at my waist as we sway, "He is still your boyfriend, isn't he?"
How do people keep finding shit out? We haven't been broken up for like a day! I reply, "Um, actually no. With everything going on...it was too complicated."
Vincent spins me around to face him, my arms around his shoulders, and his hands still on my waist, "Pity. He's missing out."
"I was actually the one who broke up with him," I correct him.
"I see," Vincent says, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"I thought you said you didn't like parties, especially during the murder seasons," I change the topic back to him.
"I don't, but this is a club, and my sister...well, she's very persuasive."
"I finally found you both," I glance over to see Erin stride over to us, her short black dress riding up her thighs. Her black velvet boots reach almost all the way to the end of her dress, and the heels give her a good three or four more inches. She's actually taller than Vincent right now, and he's really tall. Probably like six foot something. Erin was already tall, almost as tall as him, but these boots...I want a pair.
"We weren't hiding," Vincent says, his violent eyes flickering over to his sister.
"Well with all these people..."Erin trails off, motioning around her. My phone buzzes and I check it.
"Oh, seems like Lexi is here," I say, "I should probably find her."
"We'll come with you," Vincent offers.
"Actually, I need to talk to you," Erin gives him a pointed look, before glancing back at me, "Come find us once you have Lexi."
"Sure thing," I nod then proceed to push my way through the crowds and back towards the entrance. I instantly spot Lexi in a Chromaflair dress. Her heels are black and boot like, but unlike Erin's they don't reach her thighs. Her dark hair is in some kind of pretty bun design on top of her head. She has large peacock feather earrings on that seem to sway with the music. She spots me and waves.
"Hey, Morgan!" She calls out over the music as she pushes her way to me.
"Lexi! Thanks for coming!"
