Riiiiiing! Riiiiing! Riiiing!
I smack my phone, "Owwww!"
"Mate, you have to press the button," Lexi calls out.
Grunting, I smack the button on my phone, "Why did I set an alarm!?"
"Something about a date with some guy...Mike? Look if you're going to have two boyfriends I need to know ahead of time."
"Mike? Oh, Nick! No, he's not my boyfriend," Sitting up, I rub my eyes and glance at Lexi, who's currently painting her toenails black on her bed, "He's just my friend."
"I really don't care," Lexi says, continuing with what she was doing.
"Dean's my boyfriend, I am NOT double dating," I get out of bed and pull on some pants.
Lexi glances up at me, "You're wearing that?"
"What's wrong with this?" I glance down at my black hoodie and jeans.
"Nothing," She shrugs and goes back to painting her toenails. Her dark hair hangs by her raised knee in a long pony tail.
"Anyway, I'll be back later," I say.
"Cool."
"If you want to grab dinner with us tonight, feel free?" I offer.
"Maybe," She doesn't look up as I walk out of the room.
...
I pace back and forth in front of the boys' dorm. They said to meet at ten am, it is currently one minute past. I glance up at the building, past the many windows. The door finally opens, snapping my attention back to it.
"Hey, Morgan," Flynn strides casually over to me.
"Flynn!" I exclaim, giving him a smile, "I didn't know you were in the same dorm as Dean and Nick."
"Yep," Flynn shrugs, "Is that who you're waiting for?"
"Yes, they take forever," I roll my eyes, "Do you want to hang with us?"
Flynn laughs nervously, "As much fun as that would be, I'm actually meeting Brianna at the park."
"Oh, I gotcha. Some other time," I shrug, "Tell her I say hi!"
"I will, she's been saying we need to hang out again," Flynn waves as he walks away.
"We definitely do!" I call after him.
The door swings open again, catching my attention once more. Finally, a blue haired guy walks out, followed by a blonde. Sounds like a dumb joke.
"Morgan, hey," Dean gives me a smile before glaring back at Nick, "This dumbass is what took so long."
"Really, me?" Nick scoffs, shooting Dean a nasty look, "I swear you have more hair product than hair!"
"It was hair spray! It gets tangled easily," Dean snaps back as he walks over to my side.
"Hi, Nick," He turns to look at me and I give him a smile.
He returns the smile, "Hey, Morgan."
"You guys can hug," Dean rolls his stormy grey eyes.
"Shut up, we don't need your permission," Nick snaps, but then he proceeds to give me a hug. It's a nice hug, comfortable, and tight, but not too tight.
"Okay, breakfast?" I ask after pulling away from Nick.
"I'm starving," Nick agrees.
"I'm sure you are," Dean mocks as we start making our way to the cafeteria.
...
I sit at the table, taking small bites of my burger as I wait for the guys to come back. I spot them not too far away, arguing. Will they ever get along? It's going to be a long year for them if they don't. I stifle a snicker at the thought as they near the table.
"You didn't have to take the last chocolate cookie," Dean points out as he sits next to me. Nick grabs the chair in front of me.
"I kind of did."
"No, you really didn't," Dean glares, but Nick just raises the cookie and goes to take a bite. I snatch it out of his hand and pop the whole thing in my mouth. They both stare at me with a look of betrayal.
"I fixed the problem," I shrug, after eating the entire cookie.
"That's not..." Dean trails off.
"My cookie..." Nick pouts, giving me puppy eyes.
I snort, "Losers," and go back to my burger.
"How was it here while I was gone?" Nick asks, finally changing the subject, "Did I miss anything?"
"No new murders if that's what you're asking," Dean mutters.
"Not really," I shrug, "It was actually kind of bo-er, quiet."
"Quiet, huh, it feels so weird," Nick shivers, taking a bite of his...well I'm not quite sure what he's eating.
"What is that?" I point at the weird roll of food he's holding.
"Shawarma," Nick replies.
"What the hell is a Shawarma?" I demand.
"I already asked him that," Dean says, "It's like a British burrito or something."
"Weird," I shake my head.
"It's good!" Nick exclaims, taking another bite.
"Okay, whatever you say," I chuckle, "So, how was Boston? Didn't you come back with your sister or something?"
"It was actually kind of nice, but I felt like the university there was too big. Also, I did come back with my sister; she's staying in our old house here. Mom and dad decided to stay in Boston, they're pretty done with everything that went down here," Nick replies.
"I'm surprised they weren't mad about you wanting to come back," Dean says.
"Oh, they were pissed," Nick shrugs, "But, hey, what can you do?"
"I'm glad you're back, though," I smile.
"Me too," Nick gives me a slight smile.
Dean clears his throat, "So, what should we do with our week before classes?"
"I have no idea," I say.
"Something fun, and possibly relaxing," Nick suggests.
"I agree with that," Dean nods.
"Wow, you finally agree on something," I joke. They both glare at me.
...
Later that night...
Lacy Rivers, a sophomore of Bookview Valley U, finishes unpacking her boxes; triumphant that she was able to move in before her roommate got there the next day. She takes in the room around her, decorated how she wanted, and all of her stuff in every perfect place. The dorm around her is quiet with heavy sleepers; her window blinds pulled shut. Low music plays from her phone as she leans back and admires her work.
"Now I can get some sleep," She mutters to herself, walking over to the single sink in her room. She glances at the mirror as she grabs her make up remover. She begins to wipe the mascara from her eyes, "I hope there isn't too much homework this semester."
"Homework is always a bore, isn't it?"
Lacy spins around, "Who's there?" She asks, but there's no one else in the room.
"Come on, Lacy, your make up won't remove itself."
"I can hear you, come out!" Lacy begins to slowly walk to the other side of the room, the non-decorated side for her roommate.
"Of course you can hear me, I want you to hear me, because no one will hear you."
