After Aris and Andre's appearance, Maria she didn't know what to do. How would she hang out around Dimitri ever again, knowing that he could be in danger again? Maria knew Aris would come back like the idiot he is and attack if he sees her with him, but Maria just wanted Dimitri to be safe. Maria kept having these thoughts all-night and she knew what to do... but she can't do it. As she was still thinking all her thinking thoughts Dimitri was as well at the same time.
Dimitri really loved Maria but watching her be a target just because he likes her made him mad, angry, confused, and sad. He HATED Aris because he keeps hurting the person he loves the most in the whole world, his little pookie wookie teddy woody bear, honey bun, sugar boo, his little lover girl, cookie kiss, and his cutie patootie. (currently vomiting - m). But he had to put all those nicknames aside because even if they still hang out secretly he would be putting her at risk. Dimitri realized what he had to do, he had to... He couldn't even think of doing it but, he had to just stop talking to her. That means no more feeding ducks, no more of those silly laughs, just no more of his beautiful Maria.
They both knew what they had to do. The next day they were both avoiding each other, not wanting to have to confront the only doable solution to their current situation. Eventually in aftercare, Maria dragged Dimitri to the hallway so they could talk.
"So, whats going on right now is kind of weird..." Maria started. "Yeah..." Dimitri replied, turning his head away from her.
She spoke again, "You know if it was up to me we would never have to do this, but I think we should-"
He cut her off, "I know, stop hanging out. I dont want either of us to feel unsafe."
"I really wish it wasn't like this." Maria told him.
"Yeah. Me too." He replied.
They looked each other in the eyes and hugged and then went back into the classroom.
