September 1st

7:45am, morning

I grabbed my tote bag, put on my shoes, and headed out the door. I woke up earlier than usual, hoping to get a good breakfast snack.

I stopped by a nearby bakery and got a small slice of Victoria Sponge Cake. I quickly finished it and walked to my first class of the day.

It was a ballroom class. My mother told me if I wanted to study what I'm studying. That I should learn all styles of dance.

I entered the dance studio, put on my ballroom heels, and set my bag to the side.

I walked to the corner of the studio, my shoes clicking onto the floor, when I saw a familiar face.

"Tom?" He looked back at me. "Oh hey. " I furrowed my brows. "I didn't know you took this class. " He shrugged at me.

"What can I say? I guess I'm a sucker for dance. " I laughed. The teacher walked in as she began instructing.

"Now that I have taught you the waltz. Go ahead and try it with a partner. I don't care who it is. Or if you waste time. It's your grade. Not mine. " The instructor shrugged and walked to a corner of the studio.

"Well, since your such a sucker for dance. Why don't you show me what you've got? " I turned to look at Tom. He looked back at me, surprised. "Sure, you're in for a treat. "

I smiled and walked up to him, getting into the proper formation. Tom took a step forward as I took a step back, then to the side, then forward, side, and back again, creating a box.

I wasn't new to the Ballroom world. I took classes when I was younger. We created our own pace and rhythm to the classical music playing in the background.

"Your not new to this are you? " Tom asked. I was looking away from him, due to the formation. "No, I'm not. I took classes before. " I could hear Tom chuckle.

"I could tell. You have a perfect rhythm. " I smiled. "Thank you. Your not so bad yourself. " Tom laughed. "I know. But when I'm dancing with a girl as pretty as you, I try harder. "

A faint tint of blush appeared on my face.

The song came to an end, and we parted. The instructor cleared her throat. "Class dismissed. "

I grabbed my tote bag and walked out the studio.

The rest of my day went normal. The only thing I was looking forward to was my date with Tom later today.

Slowly, the time came and I found myself getting ready for the date. I put on my shoes and looked at myself in the mirror.

I wore a casual and comfortable outfit. Tom told me not to wear anything extra since it wasn't going to be anything fancy. I put on some earrings and heard a knock at the door.

I walked over and opened it. Tom stood there, playing with his piercing. He looked me up and down and looked back at my eyes.

"You ready?" I nodded at him, walked out of my dorm, and locked it.

We walked down the stairs and to his car. He unlocked the door and walked to his side. "So where are we going? " I alsed as I climbed into the car, putting on my seatbelt.

He locked the car, and looked at his rear mirror. "It's a surprise. " He looked back at me with a grin on his face before he started driving.
