September 1st

6:45pm, noon

Tom began driving through the roads. As we progressively got to the destination. I noticed Tom's hand moving closer to me.

In the matter of minutes, his hand was placed on my thigh, squeezing it slightly as he drove. I was debating whether or not I should remove it. I looked out the window, deciding to leave his hand there.

The sun was setting, making the ambience more relaxing. The car stopped in front of a restaurant. Tom opened the car door and we stepped out. Tom walked into the building, he grabbed my hand, pulling me with him.

"For two?" The host asked, as Tom nodded. We followed the host to a patio that was sitting on a lake, fairy lights were hanging above us. We got a table near the corner, able to see the lake. The host set the menus down and walked off.

I continued looking around. "Do you like it?" Tom's voice stopped me from looking around more. "Yeah, it's really nice. And I like the view." I said, referring to the lake. Tom gave a small nod and looked down at his menu. "Get whatever you like. It's on me." Tom said, his eyes still glued onto the menu.

"Are you sure? I brought my wallet." I pointed to my bag. Tom shook his head. "It's fine. I'll pay." Tom's eyes scanned the menu. I gave a small smile and picked up the menu and scanned for a meal that I liked.

Once our menus and food were picked up. Tom looked back at me. "So, last time we talked you mentioned that your family wasn't very excited of your major." I shook my head as I took a sip of my drink.

"They aren't. The only people who do support me, are my two siblings. Sometimes not even both of them. My sister will sometimes say that I'm stupid and idiotic for choosing this path. My brother is the only one who has constantly supported me. " I said, think of Santiago, smiling.

"What about your parents?" Tom asked. "My dad was furious with my decision. He said I should went into business. My mom would constantly ask my questions on how I was going to make money.  I just got up and left the room." At this point my smile was gone and I was staring at my glass of water.

"Well fuck them. I support you. Even though I haven't known you for long, I could tell you have talent. The way you were dancing today, I couldn't believe it. And your voice when you sang in class, It sounded so angelic." Tom said with as soft look on his face.

I looked up from the water, making eye contact with Tom. My smile returned, making Tom smile back as me. "Thank you." Tom nodded. Our food arrived, and we ate. We continued chatting and as the day went by, the sun set and it was nighttime.

Tom paid and we left the building, returning back to his car. He started driving, his hand settled on my thigh once again. I didn't think much and continued looking out the window. We arrived to the dorms at around 9:37pm.

"I'll see you tomorrow." Tom said as we approached my dorm. He pulled me into a hug and gave me a kiss on the head. He walked back to his dorm. I looked at him walking away and then went into my dorm, his words still lingering in my head.

I support you. Even though I haven't known you for long, I could tell you have talent.

I stared at the wall for a bit, smiling to myself. I think I might actually fall for this guy.

I changed into my sleeping clothes and climbed into bed, thinking of what happened today. My eyes began closing and I feel asleep to Tom's words.
