"Late Night Vibes"
I silently laughed at a text from Krew but was interrupted by the the presence of someone on the other side of the counter
"My favorite barista baddie" Zaire said walking to the store
"Welcome to Starbucks... What can I get for you?" I asked blankly
"Can I get a dragon fruit refresher with extra dragon fruit? She asked
I put her order in then made her drink. The store was slow right now so I went to the side to talk to her since she was basically begging me
"How you been girl?" She asked
"Good. I just been working" I said
"That's good. I just been focused on college. But this summer... ima show my ass" she said laughing
"That nice"
"Ughh I miss you and Anayka. We all used to have so much fun" she said sighing
"Stop bringing my sister up" I said mugging her
Zaire is one of my old friends that I distanced my self from when Anayka passed. She knows why.
"Deija is about to get married. She wants you to come" she said changing the subject
"Married?" I said furrowing my eyebrows
"You know that girl godly. She gon do everything by that white man book" she said laughing
Nah I was thinking what nigga actually wifed her?
"You know how I feel about going around everybody" I said sighing
"It's not like that, Juice" she said frowning
"Athena" I corrected
"Right... so will you come?" She asked with pleading eyes
"I'll think about it" I said getting up as a customer walked inside
I left her there and took their order. Eventually Zaire left and the day started to go by. Elijah and our other coworker, Nina, made work kinda fun for me.
