While Jaxon, Leba and Niac were having a chat with Aikyaa they heard footsteps approaching towards them. All of them redirected their gaze towards the entrance of the room, and after a few moments, a very old-looking monk arrived with two middle-aged monks.
The old monk who arrived at the gates was wearing a traditional red and gold robe, and his face was wrinkled with age. He had a long white beard that reached his waist, and he had piercing eyes, showing a wisdom that only comes with years of experience. The two middle-aged monks were dressed in similar robes but with fewer decorations, and they looked more focused and alert.
"Greetings, travellers" , the old monk said in a calm and measured voice. "I am Abbot Mahathera, the head of this monastery also known as the Chi Master. I hear that you are seeking my aid in breaking a curse?"
Jaxon stepped forward and introduced himself, Niac and Leba.He explained the curse that had befallen on Leba and Niac and how they had been searching for a way to break it.
The Chi Master listened carefully, nodding occasionally as Jaxon spoke. When Jaxon finished, The Chi Master closed his eyes and remained silent for a few moments, as if contemplating what he had just heard.
"I see ", The Chi Master finally said, opening his eyes. "The curse you speak of is indeed a grave matter. I will need to consult with the other monks and meditate on this issue before I can offer you any advice or help."
When the Chi Master was about to leave with the other monks, Jaxon said "Wait, I have one more request." The Chi Master turned around and asked "What is it ?". Jaxon replied in a serious tone "I want to learn how to control Chi present inside me and Chi of the elements and I know I won't find a better teacher."
The Chi Master was surprised after listening to this request of Jaxon. He looked at Jaxon suspiciously and asked "And why do you need this skill?" Jaxon replied "I know we have a long journey ahead and we need to face many difficulties on our way of breaking the curse. I believe this skill will help us in facing those difficulties and making our journey easy."
The Chi Master listened in silence, his expression inscrutable. When Jaxon had finished, the Chi Master spoke. "Controlling chi is not an easy thing, young Jaxon. It takes years of practice and discipline."
"Master", Jaxon began, "I understand that controlling Chi is a challenging feat, requiring years of experience and discipline. But I believe I have already grasped some control over it, and I yearn to push my limits further. I wish to learn from you, to unlock the full potential of my Chi."
The Chi Master nodded, acknowledging Jaxon's eagerness. "Indeed, the path of mastering Chi is arduous and demanding. It is not something easily attained. However, if you possess some foundation, it may be possible to expand your abilities."
"The essence of Chi is the life force", Chi Master explained. "Initially, it resides within living beings, but through interaction with the non-living, Chi can also be transferred to lifeless objects. Certain inanimate things, such as fire, water, and air, inherently contain Chi. Each person possesses the gift of receiving the Chi of an object, which can be combined with their own Chi to perform a variety of feats, such as elemental attacks and manipulation of the surrounding environment. In simpler terms, you can call it magic. However, awakening this power requires intense focus and dedicated practice."
"So, Jaxon, what type of magic do you possess? " Chi master asked Jaxon after finishing his explanation. Jaxon replied "I have control on some elements and I can create gusts of wind, fiery punches, shield of water, etc."
As Jaxon finished his explanation, he could see the Chi Master contemplating his words, a hint of confusion lingering on his face. The Chi Master posed a question, "But Jaxon, how is it that you claim to manipulate multiple elements? Traditionally, individuals possess the ability to control only one element or object."
Jaxon raised his hand, revealing the bracelet adorning his wrist. "This bracelet holds the knowledge and power of its previous owners, who were natural elemental magic users-masters of fire, wind, and water. While I have yet to unlock my own element, I have been able to channel the powers contained within this bracelet. It requires a significant amount of Chi to access and utilize all three elements, and I have yet to discover my own object. I believe with your guidance, Master, I can further develop my control over the Chi within this bracelet and ultimately find my true object of power."
The Chi Master's eyes widened as he examined the artifact on Jaxon's wrist. He could sense the immense power emanating from the bracelet, and he was impressed by its history and significance. "This is truly a remarkable artifact, Jaxon", the Chi Master acknowledged. "If what you say is true, it holds great potential for your journey in mastering Chi. However, if you truly wish to learn from me, you must prove yourself."
The Chi Master continued, his voice firm and determined. "I will host a tournament, Jaxon. You will face three of my most skilled students. If you can defeat them or even provide them with a worthy challenge, I will consider teaching you the ways of controlling your Chi."
Jaxon nodded, accepting the challenge with determination in his eyes. He knew that this tournament would be a test of his skills, both physical and mental, and a chance to prove himself worthy of the Chi Master's tutelage. The weight of the upcoming battles settled upon him, igniting a fire within his soul.
On the other side in the same strange location we see that man again tied in the strings. He says "I must escape before anything happens to them, I must find a way to free myself."
