Trying to Piece this Together

At this point there was a million things running through my mind. I was feeling so many different emotions. I look over at Hunter and he was surprisingly unfazed.

" How are you not surprised by this?" I asked him. "Well it was actually pretty obvious, I mean you did say you just knew her name was Vixen, that on its own pretty much proved it" Hunter said informing me.

" Ok, now what should we do" I ask him. I Could tell
Hunter was having a hard time thinking about that question. "Well I could teach you how to fly a palismen" He tells me.

"Wait really?" I ask being very surprised. "No" Hunter said with an amused expression on his face. Instead of responding I looked at him with a disappointed expression.

After that we spent hours talking about Palismen and, I had a lot of fun talking to Hunter. I hear a loud sound. It was my phone, Camila sent me a text saying that she was going to go pick up food.

This made me think of something. " Hunter should we keep this new discovery a secret" Hunter looks at me with a very confused expression. "Why would we do that" He says.

"Well everyone has a lot of things on their plate right now and I feel like we shouldn't add new things for them to worry about" I say reasoning with him. "Yeah your probably right" He says ending the discussion.

After that, Camila was back with some dinner so we ate it as a big group. The whole group kept questioning me, asking if Vixen was ok. I just told them all the details besides that she was a palismen.

At this point I was getting ready to sleep on the couch in the living room when Gus approached me. "If you want you can sleep in the basement and I can take your spot on this couch" He tells me. " I would actually love that, thanks Gus" I say while looking at Gus as he was smiling.

This was perfect cause now I could talk to Hunter all about Palismen. I slowly walk down the old wooden steps. With every step that I took it seemed that the sounds emitting from the steps got louder and louder.

I spot Hunter setting up his sleeping bag like he usually does. "Hey Hunter" I say to him. I think he was somewhat shocked to see me because his head jolted up when I spoke to him.

"Oh hey Y/N" He said to me with a slight red tint on his face. All I could think about was the blush he had towards me. The more I thought about the more I could feel my face began to heat up.

I could only imagine what we looked like standing there in an awkward silence while both of us were blushing like crazy. I was heavily struggling on figuring something out to say to break this awkward silence.

Before I had the chance to think of something to say Hunter beat me to it. "So...What are you doing down here". "Gus wanted my spot on the couch upstairs, so I have to sleep down here" I said, whilst trying my hardest to hide the fact I was excited to sleep down here.

Many awkward minutes passed after that, as I laid there at a loss of words. I decided to roll over and see what Hunter was doing but once I rolled over I saw that Hunter was looking at me too.

"I don't know about you but I can't sleep" I say while keeping eye contact with Hunter. "I can't either" Hunter says while keeping our eye contact. I then get off the couch and sit on the floor hoping to have a conversation with Hunter.

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Vixen crawling her way towards me. She then sat down next to me as I began to pet her. "So Hunter how did you meet flapjack" I could see Hunter getting excited to tell me how he met flapjack.

"Well he kinda just followed me around until I decided to stay with him" Hunter said as he got up and walked to let flapjack out of his bird cage. I saw Flapjacks wings flutter as he flew out of the cage.

Then flapjack flew over and began perching on vixens back. I thought Vixen would immediately try and get him off but instead she happily let him perch there. "Wow I guess there getting along well" I tell Hunter as I keep my eyes fixated on Vixen.

"Um...there's something we need to talk about" Hunter tells me with a serious expression. "What" I ask while being very surprised. "How is Vixen even here?" Up until now I really haven't thought of this until Hunter brought it up.

The Next day☀️

Last night me and Hunter had made plans to go to the library and see if we find any books to try and piece this together(Not me saying the title💀)

After doing my daily routine to get ready I go and find Hunter. "Hunter you ready to go?" He then turns his head away from what he was doing and looks at me. "Yeah I guess so" Then he starts following me as we walk out the door.

The beginning of our walk to the bus stop was quiet until I see Hunter preparing to say something. "Do you think we will actually find anything?" He asked me. "Do you want the honest answer or the fake answer?" I say looking down at the sidewalk.

"Well I guess the honest answer" He decides. "Most likely, no".
