Sunk into the bullpen seats, the blonde sat with folded arms, spending her night practically in an untenanted Sheriff's department while all of the deputies seemed to be out and the Sheriff, well, he and an older blonde had been stood in the same office for the past hour, neither of the two thinking to check on the teenage girl and put her mind at ease. She waited for what felt like another lifetime. She waited for the tumbleweed to blow past her. There were two theories for why she and Abby would be called down to the station late at night, both of them bad, but she wasn't sure which was worse.

The first, a change in the case involving her father. While the Hale arson case had been closed on the night of her father and Kate's death, the case of her guardianship was one that would remain open until she was eighteen. She knew she had been the easiest to deal with since her aunt took her on as her own, but she didn't want to give it up. They were just getting somewhere. Without Abigail, she had nobody. Perhaps it was a reach to think that this was about Abby's ability to try and care for a sixteen-year-old-girl, but she couldn't help but wonder.

The second, someone had found out about Jackson. She hoped that was just as unlikely as the first. Scott and Allison should be at Lookout Point with him right now, chained up in the missing transport van that the deputies were still searching for. Nobody should know about him, where he was, or who had put him there.

After an hour, the first sight of movement beside hers was found in the Sheriff's Station. Honey's eyes darted toward the double doors as they opened, immediately widening them as Jackson's father walked in, she felt her heart drop to her stomach, and a little further when his son walked in behind him. Mr. Whittemore walked straight into the Sheriff's office, interrupting whatever her aunt and the Sheriff had been talking about. He walked with authority. He had the power to go and interrupt conversations. Jackson's eyes didn't leave the blonde's as he walked past, both of them staring at one another, unsure what to say as they suffocated beneath a blanket of silence.

The door shut behind Jackson, and she finally breathed again. She caught a glimpse of Abigail's face through the half-shut blinds, the woman looked like she was fighting for her life in there. I'm so dead, Honey muttered as she sunk even further into the seat, hoping the ground beneath her would swallow her up.

Mr. Whittemore's voice bellowed around the Sheriff's office, the odd word creeping out from the small gap beneath the door. He was enraged. Rightly so. His son had been kidnapped. Granted, it was for the safety of him and this town, but she was sure that Mr. Whittemore didn't see it that way.
