I walk away, smiling so hard my mouth is about to crack. King follows my ankles, happy that we're finally heading home.I run in and yell for Eda, the owner of the home. I moved here from my hometown and live with a lady called Eda. She's nice, a bit sketchy but she cares a lot. I'm renting a room in her house, it's cheaper than renting an entire flat.
"EDAAAAAAA GUESS WHAT!!" I yell as I enter, excited to tell her about my interaction with the purple haired girl.
"What is it, kid?" She asks, as I almost topple into her.
"I saw this girl right, and she asked about the posters and said she'd come and audition tomorrow I'm so excited finally someone taking me seriously what if she join what if we become best friends!" I ramble on, thoughts clouding my head in the excitement. I do this sometimes. I get so excited I can't focus on anything but what I'm excited about and then I get so focused on that I forget it and I end up rambling.
"Woah, calm down, Luz," says Raine, walking in from Eda's room.
Raine is Eda's ex, who she definitely still likes, no she still loves, but neither of them will admit it.
"Take a breath, and slow down." Eda says, and sits down with me, smiling. King jumps up and curls into her lap. She doesn't like pets, but has a soft spot for him ever since he showed up at her door and refused to leave.
So I tell her and Raine everything that happened, sparing no details.
"Well, seems as if you like this girl, hm?" Eda says, smiling at me. She's giving me a suggestive looks and it dawns on me she thinks I like this girl.
"No! No, I don't like her like that. I'm just excited that someone wants to join." I say. Although, I don't know if I believe that myself. I mean, she was beautiful.
"Yeah, that's what I said too, kiddo. And now look and me and Rainestorm." She says, laughing and they blush and walk into the kitchen.
"Eda!" I say hitting her gently, waking up King who joins in. By the time Raine gets back in it's chaos.

The next day-
I walk into the venue, heart full of hope. I know it's cheesy but Titan, I'm praying there's more than just few people.
No one is here yet, unsurprisingly as I'm an hour early to set up.
I spend the next thirty minutes setting up all the microphones, the stage and the snacks ready, anticipation filling my heart. What if no one shows? What if I've made a complete fool of myself?
My overthinking is cut out by the sound of someone entering. I turn quickly, and make eye contact with a blue haired girl.
She's wearing a green dress, with a brown flowery cardigan. Her hair is tied into plaits, secured with a bee hair tie and clips along the edges. Her glasses are round and golden, outlining her green eyes.
"Hi. I'm Willow. This is the auditions, right?" She asks, titling her head.
'Yes! I'm Luz, and I've organised this event-thing. What instrument do you play?" I ask, smiling at her. She looks nervous. She shouldn't be, I don't bite.
"Urm, piano. Sorry, I couldn't bring one or anything. Do you have one?" She asks, looking more and more worried.
"Of course! They teach music in here, so they should have a bit of everything. Relax, I'm sure your gonna do great." I say, trying to ease her nerves.
"Thank you" She says as I hear another person enter.
"Gus?" Willow says, looking more happy.
"Oh my gosh! Willow? It's been so long!" Gus says, pulling Willow into a hug.
"So you do music now?" He asks, pulling away.
"Yeah! Piano. What about you?"
"Still do drums." He says
"That's great!"She replies, turning towards me
"Hi," I say, smiling, "My name is Luz. I'm the one who organised this and I'm holding the auditions."
"Oh, cool! My name is Gus, as you probably already heard." He says, shaking my hands. It's weirdly formal but I don't say anything.
----------------------
Thirty minutes later, I start. The purple haired girl has showed up, and told me her name is Amity. There's also a blonde guy called Hunter, a pink haired girl called Boscha, a white haired girl called Skara and and my sister, Vee has shown up to come watch.
"Okay, so all I need from everyone is a little performance, only like a minute long, to show me your talent. I'll take all your numbers and message you in 2 days with the results. If within 2 days you don't get a message, your unfortunately not in." I explain, smiling.
"So first up we have...Willow Park." I say, smiling at her. I have high hopes for her, she seems lovely and if her talent matches her vibe, she'll be perfect.
To my left I hear a giggle, as Boascha intimidates her anxious walk.
"Hey!" Amity has stood up and turned to Boscha. "Leave her alone, Boscha. You're just jealous she's gonna do 10000x better than you. So shut your mouth and lets get on!"
Willow blushes slightly and smiles, obviously not used to someone standing up for her. She mouthes a silent thank you and starts playing.
And she went above my expectations. Her playing is gorgeous, she hits all the notes and doesn't fumble once. The nervous girl that came through the door seems replaced in this moment.
She finishes, and gives a small bow, walking off.
Next comes Amity. And oh my titan, her voice is beautiful. She sounds angelic, like a proper professional.
Then Hunter, then Boscha, then Skara and finally Gus.
All of them sound wonderful, and I'm stuck for choice.
"Thank you all for coming, I really appreciate it. If you write down your numbers and your name as you leave that would be wonderful, thanks." I say as everyone heads out.
As soon as they all leave I scribble out Boscha's name. She is definitely NOT joining my band.
I'm now stuck with a difficult decision...
