"Hurry up Brig!, the movie's starting"
Karen yelled at Bridget who was in the kitchen
"I'm coming!, I'm coming!" she yelled back
We are getting ready to watch the Penguins of Madagascar for the 5th time if not more
"Okay, I'm here"
"Just in time" she said tapping the space next to her
"I would have preferred watching this in the theater room"Mandy said
"Then where's the fun, it wouldn't feel like we are family at all" Karen said
"And this does?" Aunt Mandy said gesturing to Karen and Bridget who are seated on floor with a bunch of snacks in front of them
"More like extra dinner" she concluded
"Whatevs this is better"
"Want more popcorn, Dean?"
Bridget asked me
"Nah, jelly bean this one will do"
"Okay"
"Oh God!!, you guys already started without me?"
Mason said placing his hand on his chest as he walked into the sitting room,he just got back
"I am highly offended"
"Well no one told you to go chill, with your Girlfriend instead of staying here" Karen said grinning
"Hey I wasn't chilling,something came up and I had to help her with it"
"Ooh, Mason and Maud sitting on a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G" Karen and Bridget sang
"Oh just, Shut up!"
He said as he threw a throw pillow he picked towards them but he missed
"Oh C'mon, Mace they are just messing with ya no need to get all violent,unless....it's true" Aunt Mandy said with a sheepish grin
Mason scoffs then snatches the bowl of popcorn from Karen, then sit beside me
"Hey!!! Not fair!! You can't come late and kidnap my popcorn from me like that"
"Already did" he said throwing some in his  mouth
"Urghh...and you wonder why I want to sell you"
"Not if I sell you first"
"No one's selling anybody!!" Aunt Mandy  yelled
"And we are trying to watch a movie so would you two shut it"
"Okay" Mason shrugged
"I think we should sell her" Karen whispered to Mason but Aunt Mandy heard her anyways
"Oh Really...." Aunt Mandy spoke but I interrupted her
"Okay guys shut it!!, my favorite part is coming and if I hear a word from any of you..., you better sleep with one eye closed" I said, my first time saying a word that evening
Everyone stared at me for about 3 seconds before they all muttered something and settled down
"Thank you!!"
I said and threw some popcorn in my mouth

I woke up to the sound of the fire alarm and I rushed downstairs to find Mason,Karen,and Mandy clearing out smoke from the kitchen whilst coughing
"What happened?" I asked
"Bridget decided to bake some cookies, she set the timer and all but now we can't find her " she said between her coughs
"What do you mean you can't find her?"
"She went out the garden to get some mint leaves for the drink she was making and I went upstairs to take my bath,when I came down she wasn't here, so I went back to the garden but she wasn't there either" she coughed some more
"By the time I came back the cookies were burning"
"Where else have you checked?"
"Just the garden"
"Okay, take care of this I will go find her"
"I'll come with you" Mason said as we went upstairs
I and Mason were welcomed to the sound of Water running in the bathroom
We walked in and found Bridget in the bath tub unconscious
"Oh God!!"Mason exclaimed
"I am calling an ambulance"
He said and left the room
I was frozen for a moment I was trying to register what I saw, My sister naked in a bathtub, unconscious,god knows how long she's been in there, the possibility of her being alive is slim
I was bubbling with anger,sadness,blame I didn't wake up earlier ,relief I found her,
All sorts of feelings
I helped her out of the bathtub but I didn't check her pulse,I couldn't bring myself to terms with the possibility of finding my sister dead in a bathtub because of my carelessness
Minutes later the ambulance arrived and took her away while we followed suit with  Mandy driving

"Will she be okay?" Karen said between her sobs as she leaned on Mason
" I hope so"
"How did she even get there?, I should have been with her?"
"C'mom sweetheart it wasn't your fault okay, she will be fine"  Mandy said trying to stop her own tears from falling
Just then the doctor came out
We all stood up, except me, I was already standing
"What is it Doc?" Mandy asked
"Well she is out of danger,but we are still monitoring for signs of further complications"
"Okay Doc, Thanks"
"May I have a word with her parents"
"Ummh...she...her mother is no more...and her father..."
"Is right here" a deep familiar voice interrupted  Mandy
As we all jerked our heads towards where he stood
"What are you doing here?" I said as I approached him, I was boiling with anger
"Well since you couldn't inform me that something like this happened to my daughter someone else did"
He said dipping his hands in his pocket
"When it happened the last time, no all those times you were no where to be found, what difference does this  make now?"
I said using up every bit of my self control not to smash his head in to a wall right now
"Listen here son, you are..."
"Don't.Ever.Call.Me.That.Again" then
I moved closer to him making our eyes meet
"And I mean it"
He stared at me,I couldn't quite decipher what was on his mind,as I could see a lot of emotions clouding his eyes, as his jaw tightened
"I want to see my daughter" he said in an almost whisper
"She isn't your dau..."
I said raising my voice a bit as I moved closer to him But Mason pulled me away just in time if not god knows what I would have done
"Dean, you need to relax, okay man, this won't help Brig get better, just let the man see her and leave the faster the does that that the better" Mason said in my ear but I was too angry to listen so I pulled my hand away and stormed off
