"Please tell me I wasn't the only one that noticed how weird that was" Maud says looking deeply into my eyes
"Definitely not"
I say and bring her hands down from my shoulders
"So...what do you think"
"Nothing,Maud it could mean anything Mom and Dad meant a lot to him too so he must be feeling as disheveled as I am"
She crosses her arms over her chest her expression reads she is thinking
"Yeah" she shrugs
"You are probably right"
I nod"Yeah"
"Alright start getting dressed let me check in with Uncle Gary to inform him about Niko"
I sigh"Okay"
As usual the dress I am wearing is colour black which is okay for me
But not so okay for Maud she isn't a fan of dark Colors especially black
Which is why her room is Lemon green with splashes of white
And her dress has a touch of white to it
What am I saying it's mostly white,simple looking and elegant
I enter her walk in closet to get changed
I look at the mirror for a bit my eyes are a bit puffy,my hair's a mess,nothing Maud can't fix
I put on the dress quickly and was about to go back to the room when Maud came in
"What's wrong?" I ask
She shakes her head
"He didn't pick"
"What do you mean?"
Obviously I know what she means but he always picks a call unless those that he deems as unimportant and he will never take this call as unimportant by the way
"Well at first I didn't even get through to him and when I did it rung a bunch of times then it went to voicemail"
"Whoah?" I exhale deeply
"It's his brother's funeral so he must be busy"
"Yeah I guess" she says shrugs keeping the phone on the counter in the middle of the closet
"Let me also change" she says and pulls her dress out from the hanger
And I go back to getting ready

Minutes later we come down to the sitting room
I and Maud are both wearing those funny funeral hats that I hate so much
"You guys ready?" He asks walking towards us as he stands in front of me
I nod
"Yes" Maud says
"Okay let's go"
"Wait" Maud says
"Yeah?"
"Did Nana say you should take us there"
"Yeah she did,it will make it easier for us to catch up" he says while grinning
"Right" she nods and smiles too
But I just stare plainly at them
Maud really finds Niko weird today but come on who isn't weird even I feel...
"That reminds me" Maud says again and I thought she forgot something until she says
"Does Nana still call you that nickname you hate so much?" she asks looking intently at him
"I don't hate the nickname Nana gave me"
He says as he scoffs
"I love it,as if you don't want to be called Sushi" he smirks
"Yeah well it's fun teasing you"Maud let's put a forced chuckle saying that
I don't know what Maud is doing but it seems...
"But..." I say as I remembered the first nickname Nana gave him when he was four but he didn't like it so she stopped calling him that
They both look at me
I fix my gaze on Niko
"You hated the first nickname"
I smiled at him
And I swear I saw his jaw muscle tense and an alarming look in his eyes then he goes back to normal and smiles
"Yes I did" he simply says
"Do you remember?"
"Of course, how can I forget?"
I smile waiting for him to say the name but he just stared at me
And all of a sudden Niko is gone
"You know what?, Fuck this!!!"
He says as he bangs the wall near him and I gasp
"Niko..." I say in a whisper then he turns to me rage evident in his eyes
"I knew how hard this was gonna be but I decided to do it anyway,Oliver was right you are all nosy children,pretending you know it all"
"I don't..." I struggle to speak be a honestly I don't understand shit he is saying
Then all of a sudden Maud stands in front of me
"I just knew something was off about you" She said
I look at the back of her head, I can't comprehend what she is saying
"Oh Really?!" He says taking a step closer as Maud backs us up
"Yeah I did,because if I remember correctly you are supposed to be dead!" She says casually as if she didn't just drop a bombshell
"Oh so you knew" he says his voice dropping to a whisper
"Yes and trust me you just got yourself into a shitty situation because you aren't getting out of here alive"Maud says gritting her teeth
"Trust me,you are wrong" he says as he lunges forward to grab us but Maud pulls us away fast as she drags me upstairs we run as fast as we can because he is directly behind us but she is not headed for her room instead she goes towards her fathers room and pushes us inside immediately slamming the door behind us
"What the hell Maud?!!!" I whisper-shout to her
"Okay JK I need you to be as calm as possible I will explain everything later I promise,for now..." she glances at the door as Niko bangs it hard again, I mean reincarnated Niko or zombie Niko, I don't even know!!!
"I need you trust me more than you ever have" I nod trying to be as calm as possible
She releases me and get her phone from her clutch bag,presses the phone for some seconds then keeps the phone on the bed
"Give me yours she says" I do exactly that then she does the same thing
She walks to her father's closet hurriedly and comes out with two new phones and some clothes
"Here take this" she hands me a slightly oversized hoodie color black with pants
"Wear them we can't run in these dresses"
Then we quickly change
Once we are done she hands the phone to me
"I am pretty sure whatever is going on our phones will be tracked so it's best we ditch them here"
I nod again
"Say something girl,you are scaring me"
"Okay"
I manage to say
She smiles"I have already called for help,but we still have to meet up with them, so we need to run out of here as fast as we can"
"Okay" I say again because we'll what more can I say
She nods then pulls me toward the bookshelf in the room she pushes a book in and a tile in the wall starts moving revealing a keypad
She punches some numbers in and I hear a click sound of a door unlocking
The bookshelf splits into two revealing some kind of doorway she immediately drags me in and the door immediately closes behind us it looked as if there was never a door there to begin with
The pathway leads towards...
A spiral staircase!!!
A freaking spiral staircase!!!
What the hell!!!
It's like I am in a horror movie!
We are at the bottom of the stairs
It's a deadline
Then Maud pushes a brick wall and the door reveals itself
Maud turns back to me with a weird smile
"And now... we run" she says and we do just that we run towards the gate of the house praying Niko's doppelgänger doesn't come out
Basically we run for our lives
