After everything that happened, Simon, Jace, Alec, and Magnus were setting up Luke in a spare bedroom and the twins were in the main hallway as Clary kept asking how Kassidy was after her little episode not too long ago.

Yet as Alec went to walk past them into the living room, Clary stopped him. "Alec, wait. If you hadn't gotten here in time, I...I'm just...I'm glad you and Jace are okay now."

"I didn't do this for Jace." He told her.

Clary, understanding what he meant, simply smiled up at him. "Then I'm glad you did it for you."

As the words leave her mouth, Jace comes sauntering in. Only to stop in front of his Parabatai, holding out his hand for a bro hug instead of an actual apology for earlier.

Alec, not wanting to cause another fight, accepts the poor excuse for a make up, and goes into the hug.

"Thank you." The blonde Shadowhunter mumbled as he pulled away from it.

Xander then turned to Kas, who shifted her feet as she stood. She never liked fighting with her friends, but it was especially hard when it came to the oldest Lightwood.

Kassidy wasn't ashamed to admit that she was closest to him out of the others. Maybe it's because they both understand what it's like to carry the world on their shoulders, or they both have a similar sense of humor, or maybe it's the fact that it took a while for them to bond. But he was her confidant, and she was his and nothing would change that.

Already knowing The internal turmoil she was going through (because he was going through the same thing), Alec brought his best friend into a hug. "We're okay." He whispered into her ear.

"Thank god." The weight of what happened back at the restaurant finally was gone from her shoulders. Kissing the top of Kassidy's head, he pulled away and headed back to the living room where Magnus was. Presumably to help clean up.

Smiling at her sister, Clary was watching their little interaction before Jace grabbed her attention. "You have an interesting effect on people, Clary Fray."

"He helped save Luke's life." She stated. "You all did. Thank you."

"For what? For running an errand?" Jace shrugged his shoulders, confused as to why she was thanking him.

"For having my back." Clary corrected, grabbing Kassidy's hand and squeezing it. "Both of you."

Squeezing her hand back, Kas took a step forward. "I'll always have your back."

Simon walked out of the bedroom that Luke was resting in. "Clary...Kassidy, Luke's asking for you."

Clary cleared her throat as she let go of her sister's hand to hug her best friend quickly. "Yeah. Right. Thank you... so much." She looked back at the Warlock. "Come on."

"Actually, you go." Kas offered a smile that looked more like a grimace. "I should probably rest, ya know."

"But Luke's asking for both of us." The younger twin didn't understand why she was jumping at a chance to talk to the werewolf.

Seeing the confusion, Kazzie tried her best to lay out what she was thinking as gently as possible. "I'm pretty sure he's only asking for me to be...polite."

"Oh." Clary's face dropped, the sudden realization that Luke must have known about what her Mother had done to Kassidy and still did nothing to help. "Well, then I won't go either."

"Carrot Cake, he almost died and he's the closest thing you have to a dad." She told her softly. "You're not gonna hurt my feelings if you go talk to him."
