TW STRONG LANGUAGE.
A couple of weeks had passed, and I was still sleeping on Tyler's floor. My back was killing. It was so uncomfortable. I had only seen Theo in classes since the night of the movies we talked everyday in text messages.
Tia had been hanging out with Tyler at school. He still refused to admit what was going on between them.
I spent most days with Theo, and today was no different except Theo had come into the apartment before we headed to class. Mainly because Tyler had already left, and I was feeling ill.
I rushed to the toilet, and a wave of nausea came over me. My mother burst in panicked.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"I'm fine. I just need to throw up." I replied.
I finished my nausea episode and was about to head out.
"You should see a doctor. You've been like this for a week. Every morning." She replied.
Theo looked between us, then whispered in my ear. I nodded in reply.
"I think you should sit down, mom." I began.
My mother looked worried but complied.
"Tyler and I are getting a divorce." I blurted.
"Why? I thought everything was fine?" She questioned.
"The night I caught dad, I also caught Tyler with Tia, I've been sleeping on his floor for the past few weeks." I explained.
"You're staying with me. Both of you." Theo replied.
"Theo honestly, I'll be fine." I insisted.
"No. After classes, we come back here and get your things." Theo smiled.
"You should listen to him." My mother smiled.
"Thank you for understanding, mom." I hugged her.
We headed to classes. I asked Theo to stop by the drug store on the way. I headed in to get a pregnancy test. As soon as I got to university, I did the test.
It was positive. My heart sank, I was going to be a single mother or worse, I'd be forced to stay with Tyler. I took the test to show Theo. He smiled and hugged me.
"I'll be there for you both. No matter what." Theo smiled.
I figured I'd tell Tyler at lunch. Lunch came around. I grabbed Tyler and pulled him to one side.
"We both need to address some things." I began.
"I'm divorcing you and moving out, oh also I'm pregnant, and it's yours. I'll get DNA to prove it." I handed him the test and left, not giving him a chance to respond.
After classes, Theo stuck to his promise and took me home to collect my stuff, Tyler was sitting on the sofa, his head in his hands. He stood up a smile grew on his face until he saw Theo walk in behind me.
"What's he doing here?" Tyler snapped.
"Collecting my stuff." I replied.
"Have you two been sneaking around behind my back?" He snapped.
"No. I'm not you. We haven't seen each other since the movies." I replied.
"You're a slut anyway." Tyler's words pierced my heart.
I gave him everything, and he does this. I sobbed but not with pain, with anger. Theo lunged at Tyler, punching him in the face.
"Don't ever disrespect the mother of your child." Theo yelled.
"Imagine being a single mother with a fatherless child." Tyler spat.
"Who the hell are you?" I snapped.
"Tyler." He hissed.
"You've changed." I sneered.
"You would if you had to be married to someone like you." He yelled.
My mother flew out of her room, slapping Tyler across the face. Tyler smacked my mother. I flew at Tyler to hit him back, but I was too slow. He punched me in the face. I tumbled to the ground, and everything went dark.
I woke up in the hospital. I began to panic. Theo entered the room. All I worried about was my mother and the baby.
"How are you doing?" He smiled softly.
"Sore. What happened?" I asked.
"You don't remember?" He replied.
I shook my head.
"Tyler hit you. You were telling him about the divorce. He said some horrible things, disregarded his own child, and then hit you." Theo explained.
"Wait. I'm pregnant?" I gasped.
"Yes. How much do you remember?" Theo asked, concerned.
"Things are fuzzy. Did you rescue me?" I smiled.
"In some sense, yes." He laughed.
The nurse came in to do a check-up.
"How's the baby?" Theo asked.
"Fine. What happened? We need to contact the authorities and report the incident, and we may need to involve child welfare." The nurse explained.
"It was Tyler, my soon to be ex-husband, he hit me. I fell, and I blacked out." I replied.
"Does he know about the baby?" She asked.
"Yes, but he doesn't want it." I explained.
"Do you want it?" She smiled.
"Yes. But I need to know what support is available." I replied.
"I'm your support." Theo smiled.
The nurse smiled at Theo.
"The most important thing is safeguarding you and the baby. Do you have somewhere to stay?" She asked.
"Yes. With Theo." I replied.
"Excellent, should you want to adopt the baby in future, you won't need the fathers permission if he is charged with domestic violence." The nurse explained.
After multiple statements and hours in the hospital, I was released, Theo took me and my mother to his house. It was huge. He had a five bedroomed house. With a huge garden. In a gated community. It was as safe as we could get.
He showed me to my room, he had set up a whole room for me and had been painting another room.
"This can be the nursery." He smiled.
"Theo, what about when you have your own kids?" I asked.
"Then they will live here." He laughed.
"I'll have moved out by then." I replied.
"I hope not otherwise I'd be a single dad." He smirked.
His comment took me aback a little bit. I smiled.
"The nurse said you need to go for an emergency scan in four weeks. We should be able to see something then, and you have weekly check-ups at the hospital." He explained.
"Theo. Thankyou." I hugged him.
I headed to bed after a long day.
