Willow Iris-Riley.
1995 - 2023
"May you rest in peace"

The wind blew the leaves on her grave, the quietness deafened his ears. It was new to him.

Tulips, purple ones.

It symbolises eternal love.

Another common meaning behind tulip flowers is tied to the fact that they bloom in the spring, making them a symbol of new life.

His Willow.

Your name is engraved to him forever, he thinks back to the time you explained to him what's the meaning behind your name.

"The willow tree is also seen as a survivor and a symbol of rebirth."

They have long lives, but why did you leave too early?

Or was he just late?

"Wake up, darling" he called, kneeling infront of your stone.

"I cooked breakfast for the both of us, scrambled eggs just how you like it with a little bit of basil and salt. I also got your favorite grape juice."

Silence.

"Enough laziness sweetheart, get up now. Please"

His voice betrayed him the more he spoke
The longer he looked at the stone, the more he realized it was reality.

The silence is proof that you're actually gone.

"You always say that you'll be here," he said softly

"Yet you're the one who left first."
His gaze softened, putting the tulips down while looking at the ground he was kneeling on.

Where the body of his lover slept eternally.

"I'll wait for you. Always"

He thought of the promise you both made, you'll find each other eventually. The promise where you both will reunite in the next life.

He's a soldier, he lost so many people. They pierced his heart with bullets and knives but he feared the most ridiculous thing.

What if you'd reincarnate before he passed?
How will you both find each other?
What if you leave him behind again?
What if you find someone else to love?
What about him then?

"Do you remember when you told me about the other universe and lifetimes? I believe in them, so wait for me okay? Wait for me sweetheart."

He smiled, feeling the cold breeze of the air hugging him like it was your embrace.

"It feels cold without you, without you in our bed. Without your laughs when we're eating dinner, without your smile when we dance in front of the fairy lights in the backyard,"

His tears fell, without a doubt he misses you.

"Look at me, i'm- i'm such a mess" he struggled to find his words, "it's been months but i still don't know what to do with myself now that you're gone."

He felt pity for himself

I should get myself together, he thought

"I look harsh, don't I?" He chuckled "Would you still find these eyes pretty after I cry it all out?"

"My eyes that you loved so much"

He looked up in the sky, feeling the chills of the newly blossomed spring.

"It feels suffocating, without you. Without you here by my side"

He fixed his position, now sitting in the grass. His forehead touching your stone.

"It's really scary- I don't know if I could do this anymore, I don't know why I woke up you know I just- why didn't I die? I wish i did so atleast i could be with you."

He catched his breath

"Even if that means I'll wait for years, centuries-- I will wait for you without hesitation. I will be patient."

He touched your engraved name

"That's how worthy you are, so please wait, no matter how long it is- or how long it takes for me to find you again so please, wait for me."

He spoke nothing but truth, full of love and hope.

He hoped you'd recognize him again.

"Even if it meant that I have to die again, I'll do it over and over without hesitation, until we both have our hands tied together again. Until I hear your voice calling me again."

He hoped you'd recognize the eyes that you loved so much.

Hoping you'd recognize your Simon.
