Monica stumbled, prompting Andreas to swiftly catch her before she fell. Lifting her up, he murmured, "Be careful." She averted her gaze, unable to meet his eyes, and whispered a soft "Thanks."
The two of them found themselves at Emil's birthday gathering, an event Andreas typically wouldn't invite Monica to due to the presence of corrupt and dangerous individuals. However, learning that she desired to understand him better, Andreas made an effort to open up.
Before they arrived, Andreas had firmly cautioned everyone to keep quiet. He made it clear that if anyone so much as hinted at being involved in criminal activities to Monica, he would take severe measures. This wasn't a mere jest-he was dead serious. Tension already existed between them, and the last thing Andreas needed was for Monica to discover his true identity and become frightened.
As they walked side by side, Andreas wrapped a protective arm around Monica and whispered, "Stay close to me." Monica still wasn't inclined to speak to him, but she nodded and turned away. They encountered another couple, and Andreas greeted them politely. "Irene, you look lovely," he said, offering a warm smile. Then, he turned to the man. "And Emil, happy birthday, man."
Like Andreas, Emil was a tall, tattooed individual, but his eyes were a deep shade of brown, and he had a tanned complexion. "Thanks for coming," Emil acknowledged. Suddenly, his attention was drawn to Monica, and he inquired, "Is this the girl who's driven you mad?" Monica mustered a gentle smile, though she inwardly realized she was supposed to still be angry at Andreas.
Andreas glanced down at Monica, drawing her closer and soothingly rubbing her arm. "Yes, her name is Monica," he confirmed, gesturing towards the couple. "And Monica, this is my best friend, Emil, and his wife, Irene." Monica looked up, realizing that this was her first time meeting someone close to Andreas. He had been so secretive that witnessing him open up even a little felt like a relief. A smile broke across her face as she addressed them, "It's a pleasure to meet you."
Handshakes were exchanged, and Andreas watched Monica with a proud smile, his gaze meeting Emil's. It seemed Emil approved of Monica. After Irene pulled Monica away to introduce her to others, it was just the two men left alone. Emil sipped from his wine glass and asked, "What's the matter?" He had always possessed a knack for deciphering tense situations, and Andreas let out a sigh. "She works with a guy I despise. I confronted him, and now she's acting all hurt and upset."
Emil tilted his head back while taking another sip of wine. When he finished, he exhaled and faced Andreas. "I'm willing to bet you scared her," he stated flatly. "Andreas, scaring her won't make her cooperate." Despite Emil's words, Andreas glared, shoving his fists into his pockets. "Do I look like I care?" he hissed.
Finally, Emil turned to face Andreas directly. Andreas' eyes darkened, devoid of any trace of a smile, and his expression became deadly serious. Lowering his glass, Emil spoke up. "I'll handle this," he declared. "You clearly don't know how to handle things the normal way." With that, Emil began walking away, leaving Andreas to watch, arms crossed.
Andreas had known many people throughout his life, but his bond with Emil, forged over five years, was stronger than any other. Andreas was a volatile force, while Emil served as his composed spokesperson. Whenever Andreas needed something to be communicated without resorting to violence, Emil would step in and succeed every time.
To everyone else, Emil appeared as a laid-back guy. Only Andreas knew his true nature-the side of him capable of cold-blooded murder without hesitation. Emil was the only person Andreas could trust, and likewise, Andreas was the only person Emil could trust.
Emil roamed through the party, his eyes fixed on Monica. She was seated on the couch, engaged in a lively conversation with a group of other women. As soon as they noticed Emil, they fell silent, and Monica turned her head. "Do you mind if I speak to you for a moment?" Emil politely asked. Monica looked puzzled but stood up nonetheless. "Sure!" she replied cheerfully. He led her away, and the little group began to whisper among themselves.
In a secluded spot, Emil let out a sigh. "Listen, I heard about what happened," he began. As soon as he uttered those words, he watched Monica's expression drop. "You did?" Her voice trembled. Emil nodded, and she averted her gaze, looking embarrassed and sad. He placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"I understand that Andreas can be intimidating," he explained. "But he's only trying to protect you." Monica glanced up, her teary eyes meeting his. Emil continued speaking. "Andreas had a rough childhood, okay? He struggles with controlling his temper, but deep down, he's a good person. He just has unresolved issues, and he's actively working on them."
Emil's words began to make an impact on Monica. He observed her eyes widening as if she were starting to grasp the complexities of Andreas. However, Emil knew all too well that she wouldn't fully understand the man. She was entering a dangerous game, but Emil was there solely to assist Andreas, his brother by choice, not by blood.
"I had no idea..." Monica finally spoke, her voice trembling as she fought back tears. She covered her mouth in shame. "Wow, he must have been through so much." Emil nodded gently and released her shoulder. "Just give him some time, and Andreas will explain everything to you. But please understand that he isn't a bad person; he's just widely misunderstood." Monica lowered her hands from her mouth and nodded. There was a newfound determination in her eyes. "Okay, I'm no longer angry at him," she declared. Emil smiled, and she walked away, rejoining Andreas in the crowd.
The two men locked eyes, sharing a profound understanding. With a nod of his head, Emil made it clear that he had influenced Monica's perception, causing her to forget about the destructive confrontation between Andreas and Alex. Andreas couldn't have been happier, silently mouthing a heartfelt "thanks" to his best friend.
Monica returned to Andreas and wrapped her arms around him. The man gazed down, acting surprised, and asked, "Someone's had a change of emotions tonight. What's wrong?" Beaming up at him, Monica whispered, "Nothing." She then kissed him, and Andreas pulled away. "You look beautiful tonight."
She wore an orange dress that hugged her curves. Her hair was pulled back, exposing her delicate neck, and her eyes sparkled beneath the makeup. "And you look handsome, as always," Monica replied with a smile. Andreas couldn't resist giving her ass a playful squeeze and leaned in for another steamy kiss. This time it was long and intense, and Monica had to hastily push away, aware of the people around them. "Babe!" she giggled, glancing around, slightly embarrassed. "There are people watching!"
Despite the public setting, Andreas remained undeterred, his desire evident as he undressed her with his eyes and drew her closer. Monica stumbled slightly, her hands finding support against his chest, as he whispered intimately in her ear. "Since you're being such a good princess, daddy has a special treat in store for you tonight." With a teasing nip on her ear, he then left her there, hot and flustered, eagerly anticipating what was to come.
Monica stood there, her body tingling with excitement, her legs subtly pressing together. She nervously swallowed, her voice filled with anticipation. "Okay, I can't wait."
