Are you serious? Monica thought, observing as Andreas and another woman squeezed through the seated audience. They were attending Selene's ballet performance, and Andreas had brought a different companion this time. The woman had black hair, Asian eyes, and red lipstick. She wore a revealing dress, leaving little to the imagination. Monica crossed her arms, feeling unsettled. Eventually, Andreas and his date found their way to Monica's side and took their seats.
The woman greeted Monica, and Monica politely smiled in return. However, when Andreas approached, her smile disappeared, replaced by a glare that clearly conveyed the message, "we need to talk." They fell silent, redirecting their attention to Selene, who had just appeared on stage, gracefully twirling as the princess she portrayed. As the music played and the children danced, their angelic smiles captivating the audience, Andreas' date suddenly stood up. She excused herself to use the restroom and discreetly left. Now alone, Monica finally nudged Andreas.
"You never told me you were bringing someone else!" she hissed. He glanced over, frowning. "What's wrong with that?" Monica closed her mouth, grimacing, and then let out a frustrated breath, glaring at him. "Look, I don't mind who you date," Monica scowled. "But if they're going to be around Selene, you need to let me know. I want to ensure our baby is safe and that the women you casually date are trustworthy!" Andreas smirked, leaning back and crossing his arms. "Are you sure that's the real reason you're upset?" he questioned.
Monica's eyebrow dropped as she frowned. "Excuse me?"
He moved closer, their breaths mingling, and Monica caught a whiff of his tantalizing cologne. Her heart fluttered, and she blushed, batting her lashes. "W-What are you doing?" Her voice trailed off. Smoothly, Andreas reached out, cupping her cheek. He pulled away to reveal a lash on his finger, seductively snickering. "I was just making sure this lash doesn't get into your eye, Monica," he smirked.
She was speechless. Her heart pounded in her chest, and Monica felt a swirling sensation in her stomach. She could have kissed him, felt his tongue against hers once again, his hands gripping her legs as she straddled him. Yet, Roy was at home, watching a football game, eagerly waiting for her and Selene. Monica knew better than to succumb to her desires and pushed away, biting her lower lip. "Oh, thanks..." she mumbled.
The beautiful woman returned, taking her seat, and Andreas kindly draped his blazer over her lap. Monica felt a wave of relief since the woman's dress was already too short. However, a tinge of envy crept into her, causing her to grimace and turn away. There was something more important to focus on-Selene, who was joyfully twirling on stage, her eyes locked with Monica's.
Monica smiled warmly and waved at her daughter. Little did she know, Andreas had his eyes fixed on her. He briefly looked up at Selene, smiling.
The performance had ended, and children were now reuniting with their parents in the crowd. Monica stood beside Andreas and his date, holding the girl's jacket to her chest. Selene happily chatted with her friends, waving goodbye. As soon as she and her friends turned away, Selene hurried over to her parents, beaming with excitement. "Did you enjoy it?" she asked eagerly.
Andreas quickly crouched down, scooping Selene into his arms and tickling her, causing her to burst into laughter. Meanwhile, Andreas' date stood awkwardly, attempting to force a smile. Monica felt sorry for the woman and turned to Andreas. "Maybe you should take your lovely date home," she suggested. The woman's eyes lit up as she nodded, seemingly agreeing with Monica. However, Andreas ignored their comments and playfully blew into Selene's tummy, continuing to engage with his daughter. The two women were left smiling but feeling ignored.
After playing with Selene, Andreas carefully placed her back on the ground. He took the jacket from Monica's hands and helped Selene put it on. Still crouching, he looked up at Monica with his blue eyes. "Are you okay with me taking her for the night?" he casually asked. Selene's eyes widened, and she excitedly pleaded with her mother, "Oh, mommy, please! Please! I want to play with daddy!"
Monica smiled, although she felt a twinge of hurt. She had plans to make cupcakes with Selene after the performance, and she wanted more time with her daughter. However, she couldn't deny Selene the opportunity to spend time with her dad. Taking a deep breath, Monica squeezed her hand. "Sure!" she forced a chuckle. "And when you come back home, we can finish making those cupcakes!" Selene beamed widely, hugged Andreas, and Monica silently watched their departure.
Andreas, his date, and Selene left, while Monica remained behind, watching with a bittersweet smile. But Andreas noticed her teary gaze and stopped, turning back to address his date. "Do you mind waiting here with Selene while I have a word with her mother?" he asked. The woman blinked in confusion but nodded. "Sure," she said. "We'll be right here." With that, Andreas kissed his daughter's cheek and walked toward Monica, who questioned him, "What are you doing?"
He grabbed her hand and swiftly pulled her around a corner, placing Monica against the wall in a hidden spot. Their eyes met, and Monica began to stammer. "Andreas, what is this?" He placed both hands on the wall, trapping her, and leaned in, his lips almost brushing against hers. "Why are you making things so difficult?" he asked. Monica frowned, tilting her head. "What are you talking about?" she asked, her voice wavering.
"Let's stop beating around the bush and be honest," Andreas lowered his voice. "You want me, and I want you." Monica tried to swallow and respond, but her words came out weakly. "Do you even hear yourself? That's not true." But deep down, she knew it was, and Andreas could sense it. He moved his lips close to her ear, whispering while his hand fell to Monica's side. "You miss me, and I can tell. You want to come back, but you can't. And you want to fuck me, but you don't want to hurt Roy," he said, finally pulling away.
Suddenly, he leaned in, pressing his lips against hers. They shared a brief, soft kiss before pulling away. Monica didn't resist him; instead, she remained silent, blushing, and feeling a mix of emotions. It had been a while since she had experienced the sweet taste of Andreas, and her heart raced in response. Andreas sucked in his bottom lip, seemingly undressing her with his gaze. He took a few steps back, wearing a smirk. "Why didn't you push me away?" he taunted.
Feeling numb and confused, Monica shrugged, her voice uncertain. "I don't know," she admitted.
This time, he firmly gripped her face, attempting to initiate another kiss. However, Monica pushed him away, causing him to retreat while muttering curses under his breath. Roy, Monica had to remind herself. "I can't, I have Roy at home," she stated firmly. Andreas let his hands drop from her face, rolling his eyes in frustration. Stepping back, he slid both hands into his pockets and started to walk away.
"Listen," he said, his voice trailing as he headed in the opposite direction. "You may think you love that man, but one day you'll come running back to me." With that, Andreas disappeared from sight, leaving Monica to reach up and touch her lips, still tingling from the encounter.
