So... I was thinking what would happen if Diluc hadn't attacked you? Just a little plot change here. More detail on the backstory too.
The plot here starts on Diluc's 18th birthday. After you find out that their dad died, you go to find them. It's raining and you find Diluc and Kaeya fighting. Diluc is about to kill Kaeya and you jump in to defend him.
You instinctively lunged and brought your sword up to block his blow. Struggling against the weight of his claymore.
"Diluc! What do you think you're doing?!"
"Y/N. Step aside." His voice was cold with an undertone of grief. "I lost basically everything today. I don't want to lose you too."
"You'll regret it if you end him here." You knocked his blow aside and stepped in front of Kaeya in a defensive stance.
"Y/N. It's alright." A weak voice sounded from behind you. Kaeya lay on the ground. bleeding from his right eye.
"It's not alright. What did you do for him to hurt you like that?! You two are brothers! I won't let you fight each other!"
"You can't win Y/N." (Kaeya)
"Yeah, I know! I'm weak! That's why I can never join the Knights! But I'm going to at least try! Because right now, this isn't right!" (You)
Diluc stepped towards you, fire encasing his claymore.
Suddenly, you felt a burst of cold come from behind you.
"K- Kaeya? You have a cryo vision?" (You)
You started laughing. As you laughed, your tears fell.
"I see. You can protect yourself. I'm not needed." You stepped back and sighed "If either of you wind up dead, I'm killing the other. So both of you... don't die. And please... stop fighting. For my sake and yours."
You backed into the woods, clutching to your heart what you had received just moments before.
A vision.
Hydro.
"I guess... my theory about visions was correct."
The theory you had painstakingly developed...
trying to obtain a vision to become stronger...
so you'd be strong enough to join the knights...
"I don't care about that anymore. What the fu## happened?"
You sank to the ground, out of sight, tears still streaming down your face.
When you calmed down and walked back to where they were fighting, Diluc was gone, but Kaeya was on the ground. You rushed towards him.
"Kaeya."
"Y/N. You came back."
"Are you hurt anywhere except for your eye?"
"No." You sighed.
"I'll try to heal your eye. Stay still." You moved the water from the rain and channeled it, focusing on healing.
"Since when... when did you have a hydro vision?"
"Just now. When I protected you. Stay still. I'm almost done." When you removed the water, the wound was closed, but there was a scar. "Can you still see?"
"I can." He sighed "Aren't you going to ask why?"
"Diluc tried to kill you. I'm assuming it's something serious."
