Yellow POV

"I'm bored."

Yellow sighed as he looked up from working on Mango's car.

"It's only been a couple of hours," he said

And you're not doing anything, He added silently.

"Let's go exploring."

"I'm working on something right now," he said as he twisted a bolt.

"It will be a quick adventure."

Yellow continued to twist the bolt until it got stuck. He kept turning, but it wouldn't budge

"Please!!"

Crack!

Yellow grunted in frustration as he stared at the broken wrench.

"Well, I guess we could take a quick trip to the hardware store."

"Yay!" Red shouted as he ran out of the garage

Yellow laughed to himself.

He can be such a kid sometimes.

He entered the living room and saw his staff lying on the floor.

Maybe I could upgrade my staff as well

He picked up his staff and saw Second sitting on the couch.

"Hey, Second, do you want to come with us to the store?"

Second shook his head.

"No thanks, you guys can go ahead."

"You're sure?"

"Yeah, it would be easier if you guys went without me anyway.

"That's not true..." Yellow started to say but realized it was true. The sticks really did see Second as some type of alien.

"Don't worry," he said, "We'll figure something out."

Second didn't say anything, so Yellow left with Red at the store after saying bye to Ruben. He didn't want to risk another pet policy incident after the hotel.

. . .

"I think we got everything," said Yellow

"Yep," agreed Red, " Although most of it is beef jerky."

"You're the one who wanted it."

"I wanted two or three; you insisted on getting seventeen bags!"

"What! I like this beef jerky."

Yellow was so into his conversation that he didn't see where he was going. He crashed into someone and knocked all the papers from their hands.

"Sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going."

"It's ok. I'm usually clumsy, so I'm used to this."

Yellow looked at the stick he bumped into. It was light orange with a pink shirt and dark blue pants.

"What's your name?" He asked

"Amber."

"I'm Yellow, and this is Red."

Amber shook their hands.

"Nice to meet you," she beamed, "I'm just passing out these flyers about the festival this Friday."

Suddenly two sticks come running this way.

"You can't wander off like that, Miss Blake."

"That's right," said the other stick, "What would your mother think if you set off a bad example to the citizens."

"The citizens?" asked Red, "Why would they care?"

"Because I'm the mayor's daughter," she sighed.

"Uhhh...what's a mayor?"

"Seriously, you don't know what a mayor is?"

Yellow and Red both shook their heads.

"They run the city and care for their citizens," Amber explained.

"So like a king," said Red

"Yeah, kind of."

"In that case," Yellow said, "You would be a princess."

Amber smiled at that.

"No one ever called me a princess before."

Yellow blushed in embarrassment.

Why did I say that?

"Sorry, we're not from around here; We're actually from a computer."

Amber's eyes lit up with curiosity.

"Really?! How?"

Yellow showed her his staff.

"I've never seen anything like this before. Can I try it?"

"Sure...but you don't know how to use-"

Amber quickly made a quilt of Yellow and Red.

"You know coding?!"

"A little."

Yellow was about to ask what else she could do when one of the stick guards spoke up.

"Miss Blake, we have more important things to do than chit-chat with the citizens."

"Oh yea, well, I hope you guys can attend the festival."

"We will," said Yellow

"Bye," said Red

As they walk back to Mango's house, Yellow look at the festival flyer Amber gave him. It looked like they had food, games, and lots of contests.

"It's nice to know that there are some good sticks here after all," said Red

"Yea, it is."

Yellow look at the flyer once more when an idea form in his mind

"I think I know how we can get the citizens to accept Second."

"How?"

"I'll tell you at the house."
