I didn't know of the pain growing
I didn't know it hid behind my growing excitement
I was so ready for this moment
I'd think about all the things I could do
I'd fantasize about my freedom as if it was the key to my life
Everything I went through was to prepare myself for this moment
And I fought bravely, never surrendering the fire within
But now since the moment approaches
counting down the days
I was caught off guard when I encountered this pain
The one that makes my heart ache as I touch my old toys
that squeezes my throat and makes my eyes swell as I live in this walls for the last time
The despair that have left me in silence in my room filled with boxes
The ache when I see my childhood through pictures
It hurts.
