Chapter 2

My first whole week in this new town was busy. I planned on visiting Tita June's house last time but because of sudden turn of events I wasn't able to. I was busy going back and forth from home to school just to fix my things. It's not a new school because before I started first year college, my parents fixed my transfer here. I've been taking special classes and isolated classes from the past 2 years. I was not able to submit myself in person at school because of the distance and despite that, everything went well.

"Oh, Asti. I gave your contacts to your Tita June. She said she have been missing you," Mama said and I just nodded.

She's been close to Tita June since I introduced Tita June to her. She's going there from time to time when she has nothing to do here at home.

"Estelle, hindi ka pa ba tapos kumain? Iiwan ka talaga namin," sabi ni Kuya sakin.

"I'm almost done! Umagang-umaga ba't ang init ng ulo?" I drink my milk to the last drop and stood up from my seat.

"Nababanas ako sa mukha mo," sagot ni Kuya. Matalim ko itong tinitigan at doon na nagsimula ang bangayan namin. Ang nanahimik na Elton ay nadali pa nga.

"You'll be late if you keep on spouting nonsense to each other," Mama said while pushing us towards the front door.

"Take care, my sweethearts!" Mama said and kissed our cheeks.

"Aba! Ano ako driver niyo? Astoria, get in front, now," gigil na saad ni Kuya.

I opened my messages and saw Papa sent a voice message to our group chat.

"Good luck on your first day of school, mga anak!" he said with a very happy voice.

Our way to school is not a really long travel. It's just for about 10-15 minutes.

Kuya is a graduating student of Business Administration meanwhile I'm taking up BS in Nursing, and Tonton's taking Computer Science.

Our parents don't pressure us on the course that we want to take. They want us to take what we really want.

It was hard for me taking my course because of the distance but I was able to learn an experience from a hospital and clinics accredited by our school in my previous town.

Our school is one of the top notch University in this city and all of us siblings are scholars. Our parents dislike the idea kasi sabi nila na kaya nila kaming pag-aralin kahit ano pa ang kurso namin but we disagree about it. They said that having a scholarship in this school is a privileged because they only take someone who badly need it and someone who really deserve it so no one questions about their scholarship plans.

We've now reached our school. It's huge and wide. It's very pretty because of the flowers and trees.

I took out my airpods and look at my Kuya.

He let out a sigh at saka binalingan ako ng tingin.

"I'm sorry for being a hot-headed. I was just frustrated dahil sa mga kablock-mates ko na umagang-umaga ay putak ng putak sa group chat namin," paghingi nito ng paumanhin na tinaasan ko lamang ng kilay.
