My Shadow

A Surprise

The sonogram showed a shadow on each one, but we found out what that shadow really was an hour ago. We were blessed with a girl and a boy. Our boy arrived first and then our girl arrived shortly afterward. We now need another nursery and we had it done while the twins were in the hospital. Talk about a pleasant surprise. Mom is thrilled to get a granddaughter finally and she offered to help with the second nursery. Anastasia has an idea what she wants and shows mom and Elliott along with Gia. Ray helped with the major details.

Anastasia
I want something similar to the other nursery. We named the babies Theodore Raymond and Phoebe Grace Grey. Theodore weighed two pounds more than Phoebe and was an inch longer than she is. Theo looked like Christian and Phoebe looked like me. When we looked in the room for Phoebe, it was like a pink explosion. I wasn't happy with it at all. What happened to my purchases for the room? I think the women family members decided that they would pink it up and boy did they. Pinks of all shades, teddy bears in pink dancing in pink tutus around the walls. A pink crib with pink sheep on it. They have taken over my daughter's nursery and this is not what I bought for the room. Christian apologized and said it would be fixed soon, he decided to have the other room next to us made into the room that I asked for. So a week later we have three nurseries two that were designed by me. I don't think I am being selfish at all wanting my children's nurseries to be what I want and not what others thought would be good for a little girl.

Christian
I tell mom and Mia that I don't appreciate them changing the nursery for Phoebe into a pink wonderland after being given the exact items that Anastasia bought for her nursery. They just had to pink it all up. Theo was happy in his bed, but Phoebe was not happy in hers. After we got the one that Anastasia asked for done she was happy in it. I wonder if she was reacting to how Anastasia was feeling about the pink explosions all over the room. I get that Phoebe is the first girl grandchild and niece, but to countermand what the mother wants is outrageous. I am sure if they had had the time they would have changed Theo's room as well. They even admitted that they wanted to change his room. Gia said that she should have done it with Elliott and his crew and it would have been done like Anastasia asked.

Mia
Mom and I really got an earful from Christian about not following his instructions that Anastasia gave him for what she wanted for Phoebe's nursery. She is the only female baby in the family, so we went pink rather than the fantasy nursery that Anastasia wanted. We were not allowed to do anything else. Elliott came in and stopped us from doing anything to Theo's nursery. He went to a different room by Anastasia and Christian's room and started on Phoebe's actual nursery, with the things that should have been put in to begin with. It was gorgeous and amazing. There was no doubt it was a girls nursery. The colors were soft and soothing.

Grace
Elliott caught me and Mia before we started trying to change Theo's room into a blue theme. He said we were supposed to do the theme Anastasia asked us to do and she had bought everything already. He said that we might want to leave before Christian arrives and we didn't get out fast enough. He is not happy with us at all and let's us know that Anastasia is upset that we didn't follow what she wanted for the nursery for Phoebe. He said he won't ask us to do anything like this again. Elliott and Gia are here and they are already working on the room next to the master suite. Mia and I decide we have outstayed our welcome. We get photos of the room and leave.

Carrick
Grace walks in and I already know what she and Mia have been up to. That pink room was over the top and we need to talk. Mia went home to Gideon and I am betting he is telling her the same thing that I am telling her. I hug her and remind her that Phoebe and Theo are Anastasia and Christian's children and they are the ones who choose their nurseries for them, not her and Mia. Gideon had already said something to me about Mia and Grace and them overriding the decisions on the nurseries. He wasn't happy about them doing that at all.

Gideon
Mia we can have another baby and you can design the nursery the way you want to again. She looks at me like I just her the answer to what might be behind her plastering her nieces nursery in pink when she was given clear instructions to what Anastasia wanted done and had bought everything for the nursery and she decided to create a pink paradise. Mia's favorite color. So we decided to have another baby. She would love a baby girl. We are going to be leaving here for Timothy and Emily's wedding. They want a New Years Eve wedding in New York.

The guests are finally leaving and Emily and I are going to enjoy a week alone in Gideons Island home. Ellen and Christopher are watching little Christopher. The wedding was beautiful and simple, it is the number of guests who somehow were invited to our wedding and reception. No one missed the wedding of the year apparently. Emily was beautiful as usual.

Emily
Three hundred people were invited and they all arrived and half had plus ones with them. So we ended up with 450 guests in attendance. We finally left for our honeymoon and it was a great time. The week went way too fast.
