"Weston! Where are you, lass?"
Diana and Takoda stiffened, hearing someone calling her. Takoda immediately grabbed her and hid her behind the tree, gripping his spearhead stone. Diana took notice and stopped him, placing her hands on his chest. He looked down at her but she shook her head.
She looked out before hiding. It was Ben and Lon. She almost shivered, afraid to know where John was.
"We can't let them see us," she whispered as Takoda pressed her against him as they hid. His eyes narrowed on their figures. They were short and bulky but they had their strange weapons on them, which doesn't make them any less dangerous.
"This place gives me the creeps," Lon murmured, gripping his musket. "Savages could be hiding anywhere."
"If you spot one, don't ask questions. Just shoot." Ben confidently spoke too, looking around. "Blasted John. Losing her at a time like this."
Diana watches as Grandmother Willow raised her roots from the ground, tripping the men to fall on the ground. They grunt, glaring at each other. "Watch your feet, you big oaf!" Ben shouted.
"It wasn't me!" Lon's eyes widened. "It was the tree!"
"Oh, of course! The tree just felt like lifting its roots and–" Both men looked back just as the roots quickly lowered to the ground. They both stiffened, paralyzed. "Let's get out of here."
Diana gasped as Willow rolled her vines and smacked their behinds as they yowled in pain, immediately standing up and running away with their muskets. "Run!" Ben ran.
"But what about Diana?!" Lon shouted back as they keep running.
"She's a big girl, she can take care of herself! John could get her!" Ben shouted back as they were gone from view.
Diana laughed, stepping out and seeing them gone. "I'm glad you're on our side," she turned to the tree.
"There's still some snap in these old vines," Willow smirked.
Diana smiled, "I better get back before John sends the whole camp after me."
Takoda grabbed her hand, making her turn to him. "When will I see you again?" he asked.
Diana smiled, lightly flushing as she looked up at him. He was undeniably attractive, making her heart skip. "Meet me tonight, right here," she reached up, cupping his chin as he leaned to her touch.
They both smiled as Diana grasped her satchel and walked away, glancing at him one last time before leaving through the vines. Takoda watched her go, smiling softly.
"Well!" Willow grinned. "I haven't had this much excitement in 200 years."
"What am I doing?" Takoda turned away, leaning on a branch as Meeko climbed down and decided to make him a braid. "I shouldn't be seeing her again. I mean, I want to see her again."
