Days.
It has been four days exactly since the day the war was set. Diana was unable to go back to Takoda as she was too focused on her best friend. The poor man lay after the long surgery he had to go through.
Diana had to spend days and nights taking care of him. She was able to keep him stable. Although she is a medic, it is not healthy for John to stay in this stressful environment. She knew it was inevitable. They have overstayed their welcome in this beautiful land.
Thomas took charge in the meantime, taking care of preparations to leave. Diana dreaded it but knew it must be done. John needed immediate medical attention in London. However, she couldn't think of what will happen next.
Diana sat at her desk, documenting John's wounds amid the night. Bags hung over her eyes from the lack of sleep. Closing her book shut, she softly sighed, leaning her arms on the desk. Even when sleep wanted to crawl over to her, she didn't have the strength to do so.
They were leaving tomorrow.
Closing her eyes, she couldn't help but think of the past months of traveling. She knew that there is no doubt that she will be allowed to go after their disagreements with Ratcliff.
Diana frowned as she felt a soft breeze open her tent lightly. Sitting up, she saw as she and John were the only ones in the tent. The moon lit the small room lightly, illuminating John's unconscious body. However, she frowned as she saw a shadow in her tent.
Diana stood in alarm, grabbing for her scalpel but stopped as she saw the figure taking form. Her eyes widened as it was a woman in a long brown dress with colorful stones in her ears, and hands as a bracelet. Her dark hair was long and smooth from the lighting of the room.
It was quiet, save for John's soft snores. Diana stopped, looking at the woman. She was undeniably beautiful...yet look familiar as she looked into her dark eyes. The woman only smiled, walking out of the tent. Diana frowned, walking towards the exit but looked around finding no one there.
The men were sleeping at the moment after hours of preparations for the ship. Looking back at John, she saw as he still slept. Looking back out, she spotted a glimpse of dark hair leaving the fort. Diana hesitated but felt a pull from the soft wind around her.
Walking back to the tent, she grabbed her shoes and stepped out, walking to find the woman. She passed the empty fort, exiting the fort. Looking around, she felt the pull again making her walk through the forest. What could the woman want from her? At a time like this.
Diana could hardly see through the night but she was able to make out the familiar waterfall after a half-hour of walking. Her eyes softened as the moon brightly lit the water, giving a majestic blue against the dark stones. Diana looked around but didn't see anyone around.
The wind softly pushed her forward, making her turn to the rocks. She softly smiled, recalling the time she met Takoda in this precise spot. Jumping from rock to rock, she let her eyes close as she could hear the singing in the wind.
