The doorbell was rung a handful of times. We heard Ellie getting frustrated down the hallway.

"Alright alright!"

I get up from Danny's bed and leave to go check to see if Ellie was ok. If she needed help scaring someone off, I could do that easily.

"I will be right back Dan."

I slowly walk down the dark hallway and met eyes with Ellie.

"Hey sweetheart I didn't even know you were here!"

"Sorry I should've warned you."

"Don't worry about it, you're always welcome."

She quickly unlocks the front door and opens it to nothing. We felt a sense of fear washing over us not knowing if we were going to be killed. We step out of the apartment looking to our left and there was nothing but silence.

"Boo!"

"Oh shit!" I screamed pushing myself to the door frame.

"Ah!" Ellie punches the woman in the face causing their nose to bleed. Once we got a clear look at who it was Ellie immediately felt relieved.

Ellie exhales and pushes the woman.

"Beth! You bitch!"

"Surprise sis." Is all she said while hugging her sister. I was standing there awkwardly because I have only met Aunt Beth a few other times.

"Hey (y/n)." She smiled at me.

"Hey Beth." I smiled back.

We all paused and stood in quiet. After moments, Beth broke the silence.

"Y'know the downstairs buzzer is totally busted. I could just walk right in."

"Yeah, they don't give anymore shits. They're destroying the building next month anyways." I responded.

"You're kidding. Have you guys found a new place?"

"Not yet." Ellie just smiled. Beth had been out of the picture for a little while doing god knows what. She doesn't even know that Jay is not around anymore due to child support. I feel so sorry for Ellie because she has been so stressed.

"Hey (y/n) can you go grab the kids and bring them to the kitchen?"

"Of course Ellie."

"Was Bangkok awesome?"

I was not totally sure what Danny and Beth were talking about but I spaced out until he was done talking.

"Who's your friend Kass?"

"She's called Staffanie"

"Oh uh, hey Staffanie. What's uh, your situation?"

"Danny told me, that when this building used to be a bank, a teller got caught stealing and hung himself, and if you walk around with coins in your pockets, his ghost hears the jingle. And he scares you to death so he can take all your money."

"Danny I told you not to tell her that story bro." I knew it would scare Kass so I had specifically told him not to.

"It's true." He just shrugged my argument off.

"If he comes after me, Staffanie will scare him to death first."

"Kassidy is the bravest out of all of us." I made Beth and Bridge giggle. Danny wasn't very amused.

"Ghosts aren't real."

"Have you ever seen one?"

"Mmm-mmm. I only believe what I can see." Beth then pulls out this diamond chain bracelet for Kassidy.

"For me?"

Kassidy stretches out her arm for Beth to put it on her. "It's for badass rock chicks only."

"Look mom, I'm a badass!"

"Check out what I got your dad."

Beth pulls out a beer mug with a toilet on it. But after showing it off, the entire table went silent. We all knew she didn't know but I could tell everyone felt hurt. I extend both my arms and comfort Bridget and Danny.

"What's going on El?"

Ellie looked over at Danny requesting that we all go get pizza. I just knew that Ellie was going to get more stressed throughout the night because she hates talking about Jay.

Let's hope it doesn't go horrible.
