Alex's POV: Beep.... Beep....Beep....
"My Lord " I muttered as I woke up to turn my alarm of.It was Monday and a morning. It was the worst possible combination. I begrudgingly got up to get ready for school.
I put a shuffle on so that I could listen to music for a while because it was soothing and might help quell some of my anger in waking up on a Monday morning.
I checked the weather and it was supposed to be hot outside, so I put on some loose nineties style shorts, a plain black belt and a minty green tie dyed shirt that read Why Does Monday Exist? In big cursive letters. I then threw on my black vans and tried to comb through my hair. Then I walked slowly downstairs.
My phone started blasting out I Bet My Life by Imagine Dragons which is my ringtone for Jordan. I picked it up and answered it. "Yello! What ya want it's too early for fangirling, so stop right now if its that."
"Um... it's not... Me and Carter didn't eat because we were hoping we could eat at your place."
"Uh...sure? Mom is making french toast so I'll tell her to make extra."
"Okay thanks Alex. Well be over in a few."
"Okay bye! See you soon." I said hanging up.
"Hey mom, Carter and Jordan want some too... could you possibly make extra?" I said leaning over the counter and smiling like a perfect angel.
"Sure sweetie! Since we're leaving I want to use up all the food because you'll be eating with Maria." Said my mom.
"Okay thanks. It all works out doesn't it?"
She smiled and nodded, agreeing with me.
I sat in the living room watching The Smurfs when I heard Carter's car pull up. I opened up the door. And they walked right in.
The pair followed me into the kitchen and as soon as Carter saw my mother he exclaimed "Thank you so much Momma Melanie!"
My mother laughed at his antics. "Morning to you too Carter. And you as well Jordan! How are you both doing?"
"Morning Mrs. Melanie. Thank you so much for making us breakfast. Your french toast is a legendary!" Jordan said in a chipper voice.
Their happiness was absolutely too much for me in the morning. I was daydreaming about sleep for most of breakfast.
As soon as we had devoured our food and thanked my mother yet again, we hopped in the car and drove to school. The song Bulletproof Picasso came on and I sang along badly and so did Jordan...of course I was doing it on purpose and the poor girl couldn't actually help it that she was bad. Carter just gave us this weird look as we pulled up to school.
First I had math, so I walked to my locker and grabbed my stuff for class. As I approached the classroom I noticed that there was a sub. I've met this lady before and she is incredibly mean and strict. I walked into the class without thinking much of it though.
She began to take attendance. She soon got to my name. "Alexis Emery."
I raised my hand. "Here. I go by Alex though, if you don't mind."
"That's not what's written here." She glared at me.
"No I know, Alexis is my legal name but I prefer just Alex."
"I didn't ask for me to talk back to me, young lady." She practically snarled.
"I wasn't..." I argued.
She interrupted me. "You did it again! Go to suspension! I will not tolerate this kind of disrespect!"
I huffed as I got up but didn't protest because I would honestly rather be in suspension than deal with that woman.
