Alex's POV: "Honey wake up! It's the first day of school! You know that boy Carter is impatient! You don't have long before he gets here! You have to be on time! It's the first day of your very last year and you need to make a good impression for your teachers so that you'll get good grades and you'll get into a good college preferably with a scholarship!" She rambled, clearly running out of air at the end of her spiel.

So you've guessed it. My mom is the overprotective parent that lectures their only child as soon as their eyes open in the morning. I, Alex Emery, am not a morning person and absolutely don't like school. I like to learn, don't get me wrong, but I hate the moody teachers and the work. I'm a couch potato who would much rather be rocking out to bad eighties music during what is school time and getting up at noon everyday.

So being a not morning person I sat up and let out an obnoxiously loud groan. I got up and put on some dark high rise skinny jeans, a neon green top, and my black converse. I slipped on my favorite sweatshirt that said Internet Sensation on it.

I pulled my dark black hair into a simple half ponytail thing and put on a coat of light mascara to accentuate my green eyes. I rarely include this in my routine because I really don't like how long makeup takes just for me to look exactly the same as before. I just thought I'd spiff up for the first day of school. Afterwards I walked downstairs to grab some food.

The smell of eggs and bacon wafted up from downstairs and my mouth was watering. Of course, my mouth would be watering for Cap'n Crunch so maybe it's just me.

Anyways, my dad had already left for work but my mom didn't have to go in today, so she decided to cook and let me tell you she is amazing at cooking. I sat down and ate in peace while my mom had in headphones and was repeating words to herself in Spanish.

I finished eating, washed the dishes, grabbed my stuff and sat down on the couch for a bit, watching morning cartoons like a lame-o.

I heard a honk and I headed outside. I jumped in the back of Carter's Chevy Cruze and greeted him and Jordan before dazing off about how my day would go.

Hey my waffles. Short chapter but it will get better (probably not). Do all that voting and commenting jazz. I like supportive readers. It'll be my only motivation to write.
