Part 20. The standard (2/5)

Becky is in the shower while Nam and Freen is preparing the table for their dinner. They decided to have room service dinner as they do not have the energy to go out to their room anymore.

"Freen, is Nong still flirting with you?"

Freen laughs.

"Nong flirts with me everyday. No day passed that she has not flirted with me. I'm used to it already."

"What if one day, she stop flirting with you and start to pursue someone else. What would you feel?" Nam asked trying to understand Freen's heart.

Freen was taken a back with the question but quickly recovers and swiftly answer with a smile.

"I have no choice then. I would let her do what she wants."

Nam scoffed. She expected that kind of answer from Freen.

"No. My question is what would you feel? Not what would you do... I know you will just let it go. I have known you for a long time. I know exactly what would you do but I am unsure of what you actually feel on that."

Freen look away. She is so used to Becky being in love with her that she did not thought of the idea of one day Becky will stop and pursue someone else.

"Why would she stop?" She asked and look at Nam. "Did she tell you something earlier? Is she planning to pursue someone now? She is 20 now so probably yes, right? Do you know who?"

Nam just smile, this annoy Freen a little bit but she compose herself.

"Anyways, I think I'll be fine with that as long as she will pick a right one. She just told me earlier that it would be hard because I am the standard."

Nam shrugged and laugh.

"Becky is a smart girl. I will trust her judgement on picking the right one. She did not say if she will pursue her or what but I know she is in love." Nam said keeping it vague for Freen to over think a bit.

Freen stops and look at Nam.

"Are you serious? She never mention that to me. I did not know that there is someone else."

"Cause you never asked and I doubt that you will dare to ask her." Nam said laughing as she saw Becky approaching them. She successfully implant an idea to Freen that she thinks will help her friend to come to her senses.

"What are you guys talking about?" Becky asked as she glanced to Freen that seems speechless for a moment and Nam is dying in laughter.

"Nothing. I just told Freen how crazy in love you are with...." She stop mid sentence to tease Becky.

Becky just smile and blush. Freen saw it and she feels something within her that she thought that she will never ever feel specially with Becky.

She feel the sudden threat and insecure.

Becky always reassure her and makes her feel secure and safe with her love. Becky always been vocal with her feelings but never demand anything from her in return that is why she always feel safe and comfortable with it. But now, she suddenly feel insecure.

Who is that someone else?

She always has great woman intuition that she will notice it right away if there is someone else but now she is doubting it.

"P'Freen, P'Nam teasing us again." She heard Becky said and cutely hug her.

All of her doubts and fear wash away with that hug. Becky's hugs are always warm. She hug her back and look at Nam with darted eyes.

"Stop teasing us." She replied.

Maybe Nam is just teasing us. Or maybe not? Damn!

They finished the dinner and they are now preparing to sleep.
