Tamara's POV
---

It had been a few days, Hershel was recovering well and things around the prison were coming together.

People would take turns having night watch in the towers, Sam and I kept trying take our yurn but Glenn wasn't having any of it.

They thought we'd do the nasty(devil's tango) but we knew not to; we didn't want to risk what happened to Lori happening to me. Even though we we're allowed to go up there alone, Maggie and Glenn did, dooing exactly what they didn't want us to do.

"Those hypocrites," Sam muttered as he walked with me inside; we had just finished up discussing with Rick what we'd do with the bedding and other supplies we found in the cell block.

As we walked in we smiled seeing Hershel walking from the cell block. "Heading outside Hershel?" I'd smile and hold the door open for him.

"Looking good dad, you look even better than before." Sam would laugh and smile as we all helped him out and down the stairs.

He talked to us, noticing how the walkers had been cleared outside and put in a pile. He even accepted the challenge of racing Carl.

Everything seemed to be perfect when I heard a snarling behind us. "Walkers! Lookout!" Carl yelled and we began shooting at them. "Go help your daddy I'll get Lori inside!" I yelled to Sam and we seperated.

I got to Lori's side and grabbed her, running her over to Maggie who called us over. We ran inside, Carl close behind us. "Here here." I got everyone inside a tomb and locked the door shut.

As we got into the tombs a siren starting going off, it was dark inside with red lights flashing and blaring some warning sign at us.

We slowed down, trying to figure out where to go since walkers weren't near, or so we thought. As Lori stopped, realizing something was wrong with the baby, walkers started coming our way.

Maggie and I got beside her and led her away to a room Carl found. It was empty, and had a lock on it, and perfect.

Lori was having her baby, and now. "Lori you're doing great, it'll be okay." I'd say hopefully as I stood behind the door guarding it. I could hear Maggie telling Lori to stop, something was wrong as Lori pushed for the baby.

Maggie laid down, the blaring sirens stopped, Lori wasn't gonna be able to have the baby like they planned. I ran down, making sure Carl didn't leave for help.

"Maggie it's okay, we can do this together." I said and got down on my knees beside her, holding back emotion for all of us. Lori told Carl how much she loved him, how proud of him she was, it brought me back to when my own mother died. I was glad I was able to be there, supporting Carl, being strong for him.

"Lori I promise, we'll protect this baby at all costs... I'll protect her." I whispered the last part as Maggie started cutting. I held Lori's hand gently before she began squeezing my hand hard enough it felt like she might've drawn blood.

I used my other hand to help Maggie open up where she cut, we didn't want to cut the baby. "Carl it's okay it's okay... she can't feel it anymore I promise." I said as Lori passed out from pain and shock.

Maggie pulled out the baby, worried as she tried to get the baby to make noise, cry, anything.

Maggie started getting up, heading to the door and Carl protested that we couldn't leave Lori like this. "We can't Maggie- I- I know what it feels like and we can't let her turn. It ain't right." I'd say with a hushed tone, seeing Carl pull his gun out. "I'll watch over him, he'll be okay."

She didn't say anything, just let Carl and myself go back to Lori as she stayed by the door. I looked down at Carl, he brought his gun up pointed to her head before he did it.

BAM

I flinched as the sound rung through my ears, I wrapped my arm around Carl's shoulders and led him back up to the door so we could leave.

"You did such a good job Carl, she knows it." I whispered as we left and made our way back outside.

The baby girl whined as we walked outside slowly, cold looks on our face. I did my best to seem strong but my face was a dead give away as Samson pulled me aside into a hug.

We might not have been close or fond of Lori, but she was still family and a major loss for every single one of us.

---

We needed formula and soon, Daryl and Maggie left and I decided to go back over to Carl. "Carl let's go inside, get cleaned up. You can talk to me about Lori if you want." I said softly, not forcing him to talk, simply letting him know he could.

Sam looked to Beth and she motioned for him not to go after me.

We went inside, I cleaned myself up before helping him. I was his hands and arms. Beginning to check him for any bites or scratches as we sat in silence.

"You know I lost my mom for something stupid, when we hid in a house my mom got bit on the arm. We thought she'd be okay but the flu she got it was crazy. It was worse than when Jim got bit. We could've done what your daddy did to Hershel, cut her arm off. We didn't know any better." I said as he stayed silent before finally speaking up.

"Why're you telling me this, my mom wasn't bit?" He asked with a soft croak, it was obvious he tried not to sound hurt. "Well... what made things worse was when my daddy couldn't put her down. We stayed hidden in that house as she haunted us outside. She was still a walker when I left with your dad. Seeing her every day, what was left of her, was like a living nightmare... Her name was Jenny."

We sat there next to each other, doing nothing until it was time for dinner. We had what we could when Maggie and Daryl came rushing in; giving the baby a bottle quickly so she'd calm down and could survive.

Daryl asked about baby names, Carl started listing them off. Even mentioning Jenny, making me look up.

"Everything okay?" Sam asked with a whisper, "Thats my moms name, I just told him about her..." I'd whisper back, not sure how to react.

"How about little asskicker? You like that? Little ass kicker." Daryl suggested as he held her, making us all smile and laugh.
